I gilded the magnolias with gold in Photoshop
When the petals fell off – this was remaining.
Well The Magnolia tree by our local post office has finally bloomed.
this kobus magnolia tree / is one of my very favorites / for all its forms… / first their fuzzy buds / and then / bursting blooms / of white ribboned petals / with pineapple centers / yellow and green… / until the whisking wind / stirs them / into spring snow / to the falling / blanketing the ground below… I thank TeriLee / for inspiring this one / she reminded me not to miss / their finale xx

! Was quite taken with this particular Magnolia tree and wanted to indicate my pleasure with it, so took 3 variable focus multi-exposures; 2 out, and 1 in to create this effect. To me it does more for this tree than a single traditional shot. My Nikon D80 with a 70-300mm Nikkor was responsible for this image.
Digital compilation from scans and photographs. Saucer Magnolia is one of the first flowers to announce the coming of Spring.
great trees, in the last of winter they first flower and then afterwards produce their leaves. Shot in IR [67] long exposure 13 seconds f22 ISO 400 olympus e410/zuiko 25mm digital w/ 4.5x wide angle filter. Image is shot as is, but I thought a ragged border would accentuate the subject and so created my own border in Ps, so I hope it doesn’t destract from the original image. I have shot this same tree in the past, but I don’t yet seem to be done with it ... / beneath the clouds and sky [infrared series] /
