A couple of Sandhill Cranes take flight at first light to begin their day at Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge in New Mexico.
This is the little foot bridge around the forest I frequent with River. It was shot after the first snow this winter. Yesterday someone wanted to purchase this piece at a local gallery but she wanted me to give her more choices of framing and I finally came up with this version and she (along with her children) love it as her 12-year-old called it “The Magic Ice Bridge”. So I thought perhaps some of you would like it too! :)

This is another photograph in my series of leaf abstracts. This was taken at the end of Autumn when the streets were filled with countless fallen leaves of various shapes and colors. I enhanced the colors to highlight the beauty and diversity of the end of one season and the beginning of Winter. Using my Macro lens, the vibrant colors looked like an enchanted garden, another magnificent show of nature’s magic. To get the full effect, / please view this image in the large format.
This is the creation made from the image “This is what you see”. The image has been cropped, colours heightened. There was not enough bluebells so I cloned more on serval layers. Sun ray and spot light added, “Mother Nature” was created from another image taken at home with the face and hands changed. The little fairy was taken at home and her wings were created using wings taken from a damselfly. The fairy wings, dragonfly, snail and some of the butterflies were taken by Through My Eyes with kind permission to be used in my images. (Check out her page, she’s good at macro!!) The other butterflies and robin were taken by me last year. In total there are 46 layers on here! Hope you like it. :)

I seem to be surrounded by Ravens these days….they have been coming in droves to our deck to partake of the sunflower seeds in the feeders…when we go for walks by the lake, they are there….around the shoreline, overhead in the sky, and like this one, atop the pines….. The magic of Raven is so powerful and their presence in my days lately has really lifted me up…. Do You Believe in Magic?

Blossom’s_Photo_Gallery The Magic of the Forest Floor Goblin Forest Walk, The Blue Tier, North East Highlands National Park, Tasmania, Australia. As Is – Straight from the Camera The_Blue_Tier The Blue Tier has been the home to thousands of people who have lived, worked and died on the mountain. Tin was the reason the early pioneers came here. The tin lay in heaps behind rocks and in the creek and river beds. All the miners had to do was bag the ore up. / In their search for the tin-bearing rock, these early pioneers burnt most of the temperate rainforest which existed above the 600 metre level. When the mines were finished, the farmers over-grazed the grass areas which followed the burning, eventually the mosses took over. / Since the last grazing, around 1970, the mountain and its native animals have been successful in aiding the regeneration of the temperate rainforest. What you see today is the continuing struggle of the rainforest trying to return. / To appreciate the extent of the regeneration it is necessary to visit the various areas by following the well-defined walking tracks on the mountain. There are bogs, grassland, pure rainforest, regenerated rainforest, tea-tree swamps and areas dominated by celery top pine. Canon PowerShot A650 IS Shutter Speed: 1/60sec / Aperture: F4.8 / ISO: 320
