  145×145 cm, oil on canvas, 2007, private collection South Australia I worked for a month at this portrait, the longest I have ever worked on any painting. I achieved the expression from the beginning, but the problem was the resemblance with the subject on such a large size painting, when my studio wasn’t too large and didn’t allow to see this from the distance. The portrait was very successful, it was sold even before the opening. Many people asked about it, and because it was sold they bought the other portrait I had in the exhibition… twice! That’s right, the other painting, “Capriccio” was sold twice by mistake. Imagine the disappointment of the young couple who found out the second day they payed for a painting which had been sold already. I succeeded in convincing these people that I can manage to do the painting again. If it was “Adagio” I would have never attempted. But it looked much easier to do Capriccio. Doing a portrait twice is tricky, and I was sure very happy when it was finished.

  / I present a brief history of Magda and her faithful dog Linda. / Magda was born in 1974. Within a few months of its development proceeded properly, unfortunately after vaccination Magda was paralyzed. Two years ago it was put to operation grafted prostheses of the hip joint and knee. He is also on the sick epilepsy. / He lives in Jaworze near Bielsko-Biala (Poland). / Resides with his mother, who is not interested in its fate. / Although Magda is a disability and not be friendly. / Spoken by fluent in both oral and written Spanish language, a few years ago was the language translator and secretary. / Unfortunately the company failed and Magda does not work. Its sole source of income is a pension of about 800 PLN (~ 230 USD), which is sufficient for basic needs. / He moves in with few, emergency electric wheelchair, in which there is a need to replace the battery. Disability including the truck every day to go away about 2 km of the hospital, where one receives a meal per day. / Her only real friend is her faithful dog, who does not leave for a minute or Magda. / Lack of financial support means that Magda has no resources for proper rehabilitation. / Magda’s big dream is to have your own computer and Internet access (computer knows). / Anyone who is not indifferent to the Magdy you and support it financially Magda is invited to contact me, then everyone will give comprehensive information. / Przedstawiam krótką historię Magdy i jej wiernego pieska Linda. / Magda urodziła się w 1974 roku jako wcześniak. Przez kilka miesięcy jej rozwój przebiegał prawidłowo, niestety po szczepieniu Magda została sparaliżowana. Dwa lata temu została poddana operacji wszczepienia endoprotezy stawu biodrowego oraz kolana, choruje również na epilepsję. / Mieszka w Jaworzu koło Bielska-Białej (Polska). / Zamieszkuje z matką, która nie interesuje się jej losem. / Pomimo niepełnosprawności Magda jest osobą pogodną i życzliwą. / Zna biegle w mowie i piśmie język hiszpański, jeszcze kilka lat temu była tłumaczem tego języka oraz sekretarką. / Niestety firma upadła i Magda nie pracuje. Jej jedynym źródłem utrzymania jest renta w wysokości około 800 PLN (~230 USD ), co wystarcza na podstawowe potrzeby. / Porusza się za pomocą kilkuletniego, wyeksploatowanego elektrycznego wózka inwalidzkiego, w którym istnieje konieczność wymiany akumulatorów. Tym wózkiem inwalidzkim codziennie dojeżdża do oddalonego o około 2 kilometry szpitala, w którym otrzymuje jeden posiłek na dzień. / Jej jedynym prawdziwym przyjacielem jest jej wierny piesek, który nie opuszcza Magdy ani na chwilę. / Brak wsparcia finansowego powoduje, że Magda nie ma środków na prawidłową rehabilitację. / Wielkim marzeniem Magdy jest posiadanie własnego komputera oraz dostępu do Internetu (zna obsługę komputera!). / Każdy komu nie jest obojętny los Magdy i zechciałby wesprzeć finansowo Magdę proszony jest o kontakt ze mną, udzielę wtedy każdemu wyczerpujących informacji.
