A tiny solitary fungai nestles in the crook of a mossy tree stump.
Don’t you wanna just take him home with you ;) VBS
I happened upon this butterfly in the woods one day and knew it was different from the common ones I normally see. Audubon’s Field Guide to Insects and Spiders revealed it was a Question Mark Butterfly, so named because of a marking that looks similar to that punctuation mark on the backside of its wings. I removed the original background using PS and added this orange shimmer to accentuate the lovely color of this unusual butterfly.

This wood is from the old floor we are pulling up. It’s 70 or 80 years old and could probably tell a tale or two. I see two figures walking in the mist. / Shot with a macro lens. /
i am very happy i stumbled upon this today. (11 feb 2009) Here is some panels of the fence that i took close up photographs of. As you can see each panel of fence has a completly different pattern, colour and texture. I have a fair few photographs taken and I have been able to produce some fantastic pieces of art. I think it is a fantastic find!!! / This abstract image is a little part of someones garden fence! Every strip of fence had been weather treated, but all the strips were completly different. i took lots of pictures as there were so many fantastic different shots. The wood fence looks as if it had been coated with weather stain, then it looks like a coat of tar had been applied, then it looks like the treated areas of the fence were blistered by the sun, leaving behind a some wonderful abstract art! i think that this picture looks like the sea – a field – hills – horizon with trees on it. / im uploading this picture, and i may upload another. i have cropped this picture slightly. i have adjusted the brightness/ contrast/ hue and saturation a little bit also, just to bring out the brilliance of what i photographed.

Olympus E-3. Tamron 90mm SP Macro. B+W UV.
Olympus E-3. Tamron 90mm SP Macro 50 years old. this was the entry level Gibson Melody Maker. great story to this guitar. when i was in college, some friends in a band practiced in a warehouse. this was hanging on the wall with it’s neck broken and parts dangling. well when they were evicted i asked if anyone wanted the melody maker. they gave it to me and i restored it to playing condition. it has all original hardware, save one Kluson tuner and a few mother of pearl dots. i had Billy Chapman (guitar tech for Hootie and the Blowfish) work the bridge and action into tonation. refinished it has little value, but makes a great slide guitar with its twangy single coil pickup.
The hole in this paint with all the cracks reminded me of a heart and veins..the is a wall on a very old antique store. Nikon D90 / 18-200 mm VR Lens
