  • We have toadstools growing on the other side of the driveway! Fairy rings one side, houses the other! I’ve left food and other related things in the tags… it must be food for someone! It did have an ant crawling on it. I missed it though (obviously!!).

I headed for Langstone Habour and as I walked towards to pond at the back of the redundant windmill I spotted these mushrooms or whatever they are?? LOL / all sprouting on a large log next to the pond.

  • I don’t know my mushrooms so I’m not positive what kind this is….It’s in Northern Ontario if anyone has any ideas.

  • Under a forest canopy tiny clumps of Ramaria Coral grow. Ramaria Corals grow from 5 and up to 14 cm ( 2-5 in) tall. / The Ramaria shown is close to about 1 1/2 inches in height. This clump was very tiny and one can imagine how tiny when compared to fir needle sitting on the rock, which is a little larger than real life size. Ramaria can typically be seen from Sept through Nov and they grow in the Pacific Northwest and California. Photo taken with, Canon 40D and Tamron SP AF 90 mm f/2.8 Di (macro 1:1) lens, combined with Tamron 1.4 X’s tele converter. The combination equates to 126 mm. Camera settings; f/22, 0.3/sec, iso, 200

  • I took this shot today (8-29-09) on the side of the backroad on my way home from town in Amherst, Virginia. This mushroom was huge! Bigger than a hand opened up all the way. It caught my eye because it looks just like a huge flower. I have never seen a mushroom grow like this before. Taken with my Cannon Powershot on a macro setting. As is straight from the camera.   • During our stay at a campsite in the woods in Laag Soeren, a small village in the area ‘de Achterhoek’, Holland, we made a long walk. We walked through the woods and passed cattle grid to enter “Nationaal Park Veluwezoom”. In the park there were not only Scottish Highlanders, but also lots of mushrooms.
