I went for a walk and found some shelter. I am home!

I was out for a walk yesterday, when I spied these HUGE mushrooms!!! I thought at first (from a distance) that it was trash in someones yard. Upon close inspection… WOW!!! What a fun time I had photographing these!!! Due to the fact that it has been raining in the evenings, they were able to grow…. and as I lay in the grass to get some shots off, my daughter was quick to point out that there were mosquito’s EVERYWHERE!!!!!! AAAAAAAAA I’m covered in bites, and itching like crazy….. but hey, anything for the shot right???? I love the colors here.. Not as much detail as I wanted but light was running out and hand held is a bit of a chore on low light.. But the colors and the mood did it for me.. Hope you can find some joy from its image.. / Chuck..

At this time of the year the Amanita muscaria (also known as fly agaric) grow in profusion in the pine needles of this forest in the Blue Mountains (NSW, Australia). I believe they have magic qualities if eaten (I can imagine!!) ... there must be some very happy little creatures around as a lot of the mushrooms have holes in them!
