  • Even at two years old, Lucy knows how to go for the kill. Of course, it doesn’t look like her little brother minds too much either. In a few years, we’re going to have to start keeping an eye on these two. At least we know they love each other.

  • Roadworks on Police Road bridge over Eastlink Freeway, Mulgrave, Victoria, Australia – Big Mack truck.

  • This big Mack is very different from the one the kids scream for from the back seat of your car. The B61 is now classed as a veteran and was on show at the 2008 Veteran Truck Show at Timbertown, an historical theme park, at Wauchope , west of Port Macquarie, NSW, Australia, on a lovely autumn day. I was experimenting with my Vivitar DF200 slave flash unit and though it was a bright day, I have created a photograph that looks as though it was shot at night. Interesting! The f/11 Aperture creates the nice star burst affect. Fuji S9600: RAW, Manual settings of f/11 @ 1/125sec, ISO80, Low powered flash to set off Vivitar slave unit, Hand held. / Lightroom & Photoshop CS3. • Well over 9,000 feet, Mack Lake, bends around Rock Creek Canyon in the Eastern Sierras of California. Rock Creek Canyon is located along Highway 395 south of Mammoth Lakes, and west of Toms Place. Mack Lake is the first of many lakes within Little Lakes Valley and is located about 1/2 mile from the Mosquito Flat trailhead. Other amazing lakes in the area are Marsh Lake, Heart Lake, Box Lake, and Long Lake. This is truly an amazing journey if you ever head towards Bishop and Mammoth. The elevation can reach well over 12,000 feet and the views of the lakes and mountainscapes are breathtaking. I highly recommend the trip there in late summer or early fall.

  • I really liked the many interesting colors and shades of faded paint and rust on this old Mack truck. In the sunlight it almost looked like a psychodelic paint job. /

  • This is a HDR capture of two Icons of the past: / Bethlehem Steel and Mack Trucks. / Bethlehem steel, a subject of Billy Joel’s 1982 song “Allentown” ,closed years ago, due mainly to corporate greed. Really? / Mack Trucks is now owned by Volvo and it’s headquarters is moving south. It is no longer the “name brand” it was in it’s glory days. This is part of the Bethlehem Steel Series: /

  • A rusty Mack truck at the classic car restoration garage that my husband’s friend owns. He has some great old relics.

  • Back then only the truck was beaten and battered. Now the entire company resembles this …. Sure hope someone will throw that life ring!

  • Saw this old and tired Mack B-42 truck in a rock quarry near Mifflinburg, PA, while stalking the Amish. It just screamed: “HDR me, PLEASE HDR me.” Wish has been granted …. Single RAW image, converted to HDR in ReDynamix, then Dodged&Burnt in CS3, then ran through Digital Lightroom to adjust various colors. Taken with Nikon D300 and Sigma 50-500mm lens.

  • The Algonquin Native Americans called the straits and the surrounding area “Michilimackinac”, meaning “the jumping-off place” or “great road of departure”. These Native Americans moved around the straits rather than crossing them. The straits were the end of the trail. The Mackinac Bridge is a suspension bridge spanning the Straits of Mackinac to connect the non-contiguous Upper and Lower peninsulas of the U.S. state of Michigan. The bridge opened on November 1, 1957, ending decades of the two peninsulas being solely linked by ferries. A year later, the bridge was formally dedicated as the world’s longest suspension bridge between anchorages. This photo was taken on the Mackinaw City side of the bridge. It is the Lower Michigan side. Please View Larger Canon 40D / Canon 70-200mm f/4 L USM ISO 200 / F/20 / 30 seconds / 145mm
