The Engineering Graveyard. An apparent Graveyard for dis-used bits of engineering equipment and machinery at Kooragang Island in Newcastle. I duplicated the base layer and then tinted that layers colours. Then I applied two filters to that layer. Then I duplicated the base to bring back some of the detail from the original photo. I adjusted the layer modes to find a compromise between the colours and the levels of visual detail.

Here is a night shot of an old gold dredge. A machine used to extract gold from the earth. The machine aparently floated. Pretty hard to imagine seems how it is almost entirely constructed with iron with no visible flotation. Light was painted to bring out the details. Photo taken just outside the ghost town of Warren, Idaho. One of the best places on Earth.
