  • “This Charming Man” is an up-tempo song, featuring guitar, bass, and drums. The song begins with a short introductory guitar riff; and after about four seconds the rhythm section. The vocals are first heard eight seconds after this. The chorus is heard only twice. The first time it is followed by a brief pause and the second time by the closing of the song. Lyrics – Marr/Morrissey (The Smiths) A punctured bicycle / On a hillside desolate / Can nature make a man of me yet ? And in this charming car / This charming man Why pamper life’s complexity / When the leather runs smooth / On the passenger seat ? I would go out tonight / But I haven’t got a stitch to wear / This man said “It’s gruesome that someone so handsome should care” A jumped up pantry boy / Who never knew his place / He said “return the ring” / He knows so much about these things / He knows so much about these things I would go out tonight / But I haven’t got a stitch to wear / This man said “It’s gruesome that someone so handsome should care” / Na, na-na, na-na, na-na, this charming man … / Na, na-na, na-na, na-na, this charming man … A jumped up pantry boy / Who never knew his place / He said “return the ring” / He knows so much about these things / He knows so much about these things / He knows so much about these things

Various texturing filters were used as well as the some use of the burn and dodge tools. The arm was from a separate photo and had similar processing. • Inspired by the classic Beatle’s tune of the same name. I’ve always loved this song and have had this vision of a weeping guitar in my head for years before I attempted to photograph it. ~ I look at you all see the love there that’s sleeping / While my guitar gently weeps / I look at the floor and I see it need sweeping / Still my guitar gently weeps I don’t know why nobody told you / how to unfold you love / I don’t know how someone controlled you / they bought and sold you I look at the world and I notice it’s turning / While my guitar gently weeps / With every mistake we must surely be learning / Still my guitar gently weeps I don’t know how you were diverted / you were perverted too / I don’t know how you were inverted * / no one alerted you I look at you all see the love there that’s sleeping* / While my guitar gently weeps / I look at you all / Still my guitar gently weeps Oh, oh, oh / oh oh oh oh oh oh oh / oh oh, oh oh, oh oh / Yeah yeah yeah yeah / yeah yeah yeah yeah

  • /beautiful song If You’re Not The One performed by Daniel Bedingfield/ If you’re not the one then why does my soul feel glad today? / If you’re not the one then why does my hand fit yours this way? / If you are not mine then why does your heart return my call? / If you are not mine would I have the strength to stand at all? I never know what the future brings / But I know you are here with me now / We’ll make it through / And I hope you are the one I share my life with If I don’t need you then why am I crying on my bed? / If I don’t need you then why does your name resound in my head? / If you’re not for me then why does this distance maim my life? / If you’re not for me then why do I dream of you as my wife? I don’t know why you’re so far away / But I know that this much is true / We’ll make it through / And I hope you are the one I share my life with / And I wish that you could be the one I die with / And I’m praying you’re the one I build my home with / I hope I love you all my life I don’t wanna run away but I can’t take it, I don’t understand / If I’m not made for you then why does my heart tell me that I am / Is there any way that I can stay in your arms? ‘Cause I miss you, body and soul so strong that it takes my breath away / And I breathe you into my heart and pray for the strength to stand today / ‘Cause I love you, whether it’s wrong or right / And know I can’t be with you tonight / You know my heart is by your side… More photos: / /

  • The close of a rather long, hot Summer’s day at The Dell at Clifton Springs. / I was reminded of the lyrics of the old Platters hit when I saw these evening shades. The Platters – Twilight Time Lyrics Heavenly shades of night are falling / It’s twilight time / Out of the mist your voice is calling / It’s twilight time / When purple colored curtains / Mark the end of the day / I hear you my dear at twilight time Deepening shadows gather splendor / As day is done / Fingers of night will soon surrender / The setting sun / I count the moments darling / Till you’re here with me / Together at last at twilight time. • / I have been intrigued with Leonard Cohen all my adult life..I own all his music and writings, and in fact studied his work in University... / This is my interpretation of “The Stranger”...a figure, part human, part landscape, faceless, featureless, with light shining right through him as if he were not really there, at one with the trees and the hills…his stance is vaguely menacing, his person anonymous…we know him and yet we don’t at the same time….even thought I knew it by heart, I listened to the song over and over while I painted…as the initial colours became darker and darker, I felt I knew The Stranger, seen him in fact…in reality I have never met anyone remotely like him, but I think many women do know him…..the lyrics tell the whole story and listening to LC brings it to life…only he knows who The Stranger really is. It’s true that all the men you knew were dealers / who said they were through with dealing / Every time you gave them shelter / I know that kind of man / It’s hard to hold the hand of anyone / who is reaching for the sky just to surrender / who is reaching for the sky just to surrender. And then sweeping up the jokers that he left behind / you find he did not leave you very much not even laughter / Like any dealer he was watching for the card / that is so high and wild / he’ll never need to deal another / He was just some Joseph looking for a manger / He was just some Joseph looking for a manger. And then leaning on your window sill / he’ll say one day you caused his will / to weaken with your love and warmth and shelter / And then taking from his wallet / an old schedule of trains, he’ll say / I told you when I came I was a stranger / I told you when I came I was a stranger. But now another stranger seems / to want you to ignore his dreams / as though they were the burden of some other / O you’ve seen that man before / his golden arm dispatching cards / but now it’s rusted from the elbows to the finger / And he wants to trade the game he plays for shelter / Yes he wants to trade the game he knows for shelter. Ah you hate to watch another tired man / lay down his hand / like he was giving up the holy game of poker / And while he talks his dreams to sleep / you notice there’s a highway / that is curling up like smoke above his shoulder / and suddenly you feel a little older You tell him to come in sit down / but something makes you turn around / The door is open you can’t close your shelter / You try the handle of the road / It opens do not be afraid / It’s you my love, you who are the stranger / It’s you my love, you who are the stranger. Well, I’ve been waiting, I was sure / we’d meet between the trains we’re waiting for / I think it’s time to board another / Please understand, I never had a secret chart / to get me to the heart of this / or any other matter / When he talks like this / you don’t know what he’s after / When he speaks like this, / you don’t know what he’s after. Let’s meet tomorrow if you choose / upon the shore, beneath the bridge / that they are building on some endless river / Then he leaves the platform / for the sleeping car that’s warm / You realize, he’s only advertising one more shelter / And it comes to you, he never was a stranger / And you say ok the bridge or someplace later. And then sweeping up the jokers that he left behind … / And leaning on your window sill … / I told you when I came I was a stranger. Leonard Cohen LISTEN TO THE SONG Acrylic on Canvas

  • Softly, as in a morning sunrise / The light of love comes stealing / Into a new born day—oh / Flaming with all the glow of sunrise / A burning kiss is sealing / The vow that all betray / For the passions that thrill love / And lift you high to heaven / Are the passions that kill love / And let you fall to hell / So ends the story / Softly, as in an evening sunset / The light that gave you glory / Will take it all away I was listening to this wonderful song and I had to do a painting in response to the lyrics…written by Hammerstein and Romberg, the song was recorded by every one under the sun…poignant and heartbreaking, it has always resonated with me…I hope the painting does the same with you. Painted All Prima in Acrylic on Canvas. MUSIC FEATURED IN THE FOLLOWING GROUPS.. / Feminine Intent. / Watermedia. / Image Writing / Impressionist Art.

  • The second in the series of Landscapes inspired by another song featuring the word “Softly”...it is also a play on the title of the song, as the sun is also the “I” who is leaving….painted all prima in just two colours and white, in acrylic on Canvas…enjoy the music Softly, I will leave you softly / For my heart would break if you should wake and see me go / So I leave you softly, long before you miss me / Long before your arms can beg me stay / For one more hour or one more day / After all the years, I can’t bear the tears to fall / So, softly as I leave you there Softly, long before you kiss me / Long before your arms can beg me stay / For one more hour, or one more day / After all the years, I can’t bear the tears to fall / So, softly as I leave you there / As I leave I you there / As I leave I you there MUSIC / Softly as in a Morning Sunrise

  • This is one of my first cinema4D renders; I lost the original project file so it´s not possible to get a higher resolution version. Anyhow, I thought you´d like to take a look at it. It was inspired by the Beatles´s “She´s Leaving Home” amazing song. So here are the lyrics: Wednesday morning at five o’clock / as the day begins / Silently closing her bedroom door / Leaving the note that she hoped would say more / She goes downstairs to the kitchen / clutching her handkerchief / Quietly turning the back door key / Stepping outside she is free She (we gave her most of our lives) / is leaving (sacrificed most of our lives) / home (we gave her everything money could buy) / She’s leaving home after living alone for / so many years (bye bye) Father snores as his wife gets into her dressing gown / Picks up the letter that’s lying there / Standing alone at the top of the stairs / She breaks down and cries to her husband / Daddy our baby’s gone / Why would she treat us so thoughtlessly / How could she do this to me She (We never thought of ourselves) / is leaving (never a thought for ourselves) / home (we struggled hard all our lives to get by) / She’s leaving home after living alone for / so many years (bye bye) Friday morning at nine o’clock she is far away / Waiting to keep the appointment she made / Meeting a man from the motor trade She (what did we do that was wrong) / is having (we didn’t know it was wrong) / fun (fun is the one thing that money can’t buy) / Something inside that was always denied for / so many years (bye bye) / She’s leaving home (bye bye)

  • Selfportrait – first in series, in memory of Eric. / I still remember Tennessee, and i still love you. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KGEMx3TKxNc&feature=related, Sufjan Stevens - “Goldenrod and the 4-H stone / The things I brought you / When I found out you had cancer of the bone Your father cried on the telephone / And he drove his car to the Navy yard / Just to prove that he was sorry In the morning through the window shade / When the light pressed up against your shoulder blade / I could see what you were reading Oh the glory that the lord has made / And the complications you could do without / When I kissed you on the mouth Tuesday night at the bible study / We lift our hands and pray over your body / But nothing ever happens I remember at Michael’s house / In the living room when you kissed my neck / And I almost touched your blouse …”
