The Adolphe Bridge. My sister is the photographer on this one. She loves to travel. This is country number 73, on the list of countries she’s visited. I downloaded this picture from her blog and with her permission, turned it into a bit of art.
My country Luxembourg (Luxembourgish: Lëtzebuerg) is a small country in western Europe, bordered by Belgium, France, and Germany. Luxembourg has a population of under half a million people in an area of approximately 2,586 square kilometres (999 sq mi). Luxembourg is a parliamentary representative democracy with a constitutional monarch, ruled by a Grand Duke. It is the world’s only remaining sovereign Grand Duchy. Luxembourg is a founding member of the European Union, NATO, the United Nations, Benelux. The city of Luxembourg, the capital and largest city, is the seat of several institutions and agencies of the European Union. Luxembourg is a trilingual country; German, French and Luxembourgish are official languages. The small country has one of the highest immigration rates in Europe and is often put as an example of successful integration. (The picture shows the Luxembourgish and the European flag in front of the Grand-Dukal Palace in Luxembourg city) THE SPIRIT OF LUXEMBOURG depicts its European vocation, the small independent country in the heart of Europe.

A view of the castle and town of Bouillon, Belgium. The village developed at the foot of the mighty castle of the dukes of Bouillon, who had their keep here since at least the 8th century CE. At the end of the 11th century, the then duke Godefroy of Bouillon sells his castle to the Bishop of Liege in order to finance the first crusade into Palestine, where he conquored Jeruzalem. Since then the castle was altered a great many times by whoever happened to own this strategic fortress. The most important changes were implemented by the Austrians in the 16th century, the French in the 17th century and the Dutch in the 19th century.

The windmills in fields of wheat, they are enormous and barely whisper. / It felt so sureal to be amongst them. / Notice the bands of colour at the base, the same colour as the wheat??? / a lovely touch, it really makes them ‘blend’ don’t you think? Northern Luxembourg
the forest coming to life, les marguerites wildflowers mimic snow flakes poised

This fox is a monument for our national poet Michel Rodange (1827-1876) who wrote the epos “Renert” (engl. Fox) which is a persiflage about polititical life in that period. All the politicians are represented by animals. It is said that it is still true today!
