This is Hope my Lurcher, on a snowy febuary day in 2007, she wasn’t that keen on the weather but did oblige me with this quirky shot. I have another Lurcher called Grace as well as Rubicon and Renegade the Ferrets who complete the team, Hope has the nose for finding quarry and Grace has the speed to fill my freezer. Here are the two dogs playing in the snow.
Thanks to all your kind comments Hope now thinks she is a star and demanded I post another photo of her…
This is Grace, one of my two Lurchers. Although it doesn’t look like it she is swift and deadly.

Took this shot the other evening with my Nikon D70 having borrowed a friends lens+converter for 20 minutes. Pretty pleased with the results although I did have to crawl through a marshy patch of thistles to get close enough! / I’m sure if you’ve ever tried to get close to a Hare you will understand how tricky this shot was- he is no pet rabbit thats for sure! / I’m a big fan of Hares and am quite blessed in the fact that so many live near my cottage in rural Kings Ripton, Cambridgeshire. I only had to walk 200 yards to find this old chap. Lepus Europaeus Stretching His Harey Legs Sitting Hare The Brown Hare

In true ‘Gaze Hound’ fashion, Sasha remains motionlessly still as she sits staring, transfixed at the sight of the Postman appearing from the bottom of the street. Some thirty seconds after this image was taken, all hell broke loose! The two cats, who were lying quietly sunning themselves on the window still, blissfully unaware of their impending rude awakening, leaped down with tails like bushy Christmas trees! Sasha shrieked with delight, and with Bumble firmly attached to her heels barking madly, they dashed as fast as their paws would carry them to the letterbox!
This is how Lurchers play with each other, and since Drzl doesn’t have a Lurcher companion, she play boxes with my husband…...he fills in well as a surrogate Lurcher.
Our sweet dog, Drzl, seen in sepia. She was rescued from a “kill” shelter in Alabama. We rescued her from a center in NY. She is now two and has grown into a wonderful dog. We fill so blessed to have found her.
she can see nearly 1 mile ahead!
