Sunrise over the jagged peaks of the Tatoosh Range from a wildflower laden meadow above Paradise on Mt. Rainier. The meadow is dotted with magenta PAintbrush, lupine and Western Anenomes.
Saw these from the road and wandered in to get a closer image. Beautiful bright colours.
For those of us tired of Winter and grey foggy days a bit of Spring color to brighten your day. A meadow filled with Lupine and balsamroot glows with color under the setting sun from the Rowena Plateau looking North across the Columbia River to the hills of Washington Off to a Photographers meeting , be back later!

Came across this field of Lupin’s a few years back growing in a field in New Zealand’s South Island. I love the colours and was like a ‘kid in a candy shop’ snapping images.

These beautiful lupines were growing inside of the Antelope Valley Poppy Reserve. I was hiking in from the side and saw them silhouetted against the orange glow of poppies in the valley below. It made for a dramatic contrast. – Spring 2008 Nikon D200, Nikkor 18-200 VR lens
A storm gathering over Mt. Rainier from near the skyline trail with a meadow of lupine.
This was taken in Little Lakes Valley, Eastern Sierras, Ca. I have submitted a few different photos from this hike and the lighting was just so intimate that I may just remember that day forever. This is the one furthest down the trail and closest to the mountains in the background. There are many meadows along the trail and they are usually very lush but by summer’s end they start to dry out like this. I thought it made for some nice contrast. You can see a little bit of the trail on the right leading into the pines.
Crested Butte is the wildflower capital of Colorado…and it is absolutely GORGEOUS!!! These beautiful blue lupines set off the mountain landscape just perfectly! Please check out my calendar – WILD ABOUT WILDFLOWERS

Mt. Rainier beneath stormy Skies with a myriad of wildflowers dotting a meadow.
Storm clouds seem to spew from top of majestic M. Rainier, almost as if this active volcano was erupting. Lupine and buttercup dot the alpine meadow in the foreground.

The lupine in parts of Grand Teton National Park are quite extraordinary at just the right time of year. This little pond is ephemeral, and is the perfect mirror for sunrise over the Tetons.
