  • Hi With living and growing up in Ireland for the best part of 30 years i was always told that England was lush with greens all over the countryside. Now that i reside in Lancashire i have seen this to be true. I have spent the last 2 years travelling around the UK on a purpose to document my travels through pictures and on my travels, i decided to put together a portfolio called Roaming England. This portfolio is based only on the English Countryside and displayed in full colour, after all, the English Countryside is saturated with lush greens, yellows, reds and of course deep blue skies ( well on a good day anyway lol ) :) So my journey was to document my perspective of the English Countryside through my own eye’s and interputation! This is what the English Countryside offers me. The stories growing up have come true to life, right before my very eye’s, for me to capture, to keep for life and to share with others….. ........this is my view on the English Countryside. / ............................................................................................................................................ Camera settings > Exposure time >> 1/30sec Tripod mounted / Aperture >> F/9 / Focal length >> 29mm / ISO >> 200 / EV >> – 0.7 It was shot in RAW and later converted in Photoshop CS2. Adjustments made were Levels, Curves, Hue/Saturation and finaly Reduce Noise. It was then saved as a Tiff file for storage and a JPEG for uploading here. Many thanks for taking the time to look and read about how this work was made. Stevie Location :: Crook ’ o ’ Lune, Lancashire.

  • A collaboration with my dear friend Erika: / Claire de Lune In a dream / a starlit adventure with no compass / and strange encounters and perils / of every kind- / and unknown world opens up / like a music box in an ancient attic- / a story unfolds / and tells of uncharted lands / and undiscovered maps etched in my being The piano plays / and I begin to dream- / my wings pull me upward / but my roots plant my feet on the ground / ripped in half / gravity pulls me down / earthbound by reality / whenever the world fails to listen to my tune… / so I join the stars and my dreams / as they call out to me / upon the clear light of the moon Inspired by Debussy’s Clair de Lune. • The South Lakeland town is noted for the Devil’s Bridge over the River Lune, dating from around 1370 and constructed of well masoned fine gritstone. It consists of three spans, the western two measuring 17 m (54 ft 8 in) each and the eastern one 8.8 m (29 ft). The piers are hexagonal, measuring 18 m (60 ft) round. / A great flood will easily reach the base of the arches and run over the tops of the cutwaters. In common with many bridges of the same name, legend holds that the Devil appeared to an old woman, promising to build a bridge in exchange for the first soul to cross over it. When the bridge was finished the woman threw bread over the bridge and her dog chased after it, thereby outwitting the Devil. Several large stones in the surrounding area, including the Great Stone of Fourstones, are ascribed to the Devil’s purse-strings bursting open as he ferried masonry to build it.
