  • Lunch time inner city Melbourne pub, Post Office Tavern, 1991. / The lunch hour, a brief respite from the mind numbing drudgery of manual labour, ....the beers good too.

  • Rare red squirrel seen on the Isle of Wight where, unlike mainland UK, they are fairly common.

  • This is one of those occassional photos I like to add to the collection of paintings you normally see. Taken in my backyard where I make sure there’s plenty of bird feed.

  • Oil on canvas painting- 61cm x 76cm

  • London

  • Taken through our kitchen window, this is a photo of our friendly neighborhood squirrel munching on a piece of bread that we had put out for him. Also trying out a filter called “Zoom” from the Filter Factory. It’s obviously some kind of digital zoom, but I was surprised that there didn’t seem (at least to my untrained eye) to be any serious pixel degradation using this. Please let me know if I’m wrong about that.

  • No description adequate. Leica M8 set on the diner table under a napkin.

  • This small yet colorful bee was flitting from daisy to daisy and seemed to be enjoying a feast. Canon 40D / F: 9.0 / Shutter 1/500 / ISO 400

  • This beauty stayed put for quite a while and I got a number of good shots using the Nikon D80 with the Nikkor 70-300mm lens. What’s cool is that the depth of field came out in the same colour of the dried weeds but pleasingly abstract. Look at this in a higher magnification and you’ll see how close I came. Oh. Yeah, I used a tripod cuz it’s a nightmare keeping a 300mm focal point from wiggling around when it’s NOT VR! :-D PS Yes, this shot looks a LOT like the one I took of a flame skimmer dragonfly in Weedy Field. The place is frequented by a large variety of these insects tho there is no open water source around that I’ve ever seen. Both this shot and the Flame skimmer’s shot were taken on almost the same bush, at the same angle, near the same time of year, at the same time of day. :-D

  • This beautiful crimson rosella and its family feed on this grevillea every day, the shrubs are outside my kitchen window and are home to many different birds. They converse with one another and look for the best flowers. Taken with my Canon 40DSLR We have 42 native birds that we have identified and many more which we haven’t identified, We live on the edge of the escarpment in Balgownie, Wollongong, NSW, Australia. A most wonderful place to live, love and dream. Thanks for visiting

  • Just before this mommy ran over my head and tossed the bark on it, she did a little posing. Had I known she was gonna be a playful brat, I’d have set the Polaroid TZ4 on video and followed her path right up until she start getting ‘chippy’! This is a young mother and not one I know personally. She survived the poisoning and the fact she’s showing teats means there will be more peanut-snatching needle crawlers soon! Woo hoo!

  • A young male Gang Gang Cockatoo, taken in my garden on a shrub with berries. Raw to Jpeg only Canon EOS 450D many thanks to all who view ,comment and favourite on my images

  • The English seem to take delight in feeding pigeons. It is often about the worst thing that can be done for either the birds or the environment. Taken with an Exacta camera on Kodachrome film.

  • My neighbor’s mare and foal. Baby boy was a wee bit hungry, and needed a snack before posing for me! / Quarter Horse mare and colt Canon Rebel XTi / FEATURED:PETS ARE US 11-5-09 / / /

  • Formula 1 driver Nico Rosberg takes time out between practice sessions to tuck into a bowl of pasta. What a life hey!
