Shot at Loxton in South Australia on the banks of the Murray River. That moment between day and night has some beautiful colours.
Stark dark clouds coming in over drought affected land between Pinnaroo and Loxton in South Australia. Not a drop fell but it gave the sense of impending rains much needed in that area. The Barb you see is actually the top strand on the original normal stock fence that has been covered over by drifting sands. A new one has been put up behind it.. Quite a scary sight. Just what is happening to our earth??? Nature reclaiming the land? Canon 400D 18-55 lens processed in PS3. HDR originally merged in Photomatix.

Shot at the Loxton Show 5 Oct 08 in the Riverland region of South Australia. This kookaburra is part of the petting zoo and was quite happy to pose for a couple of shots. As he just sat still for ages and didn’t react to anyone as if he was a statue.

Taken during a winter’s sunset. Shot at Loxton, South Australia. This shot I think says it all about life on the Murray. If you look closely you will find the remains of a rope swing that has been worn out by it’s many uses, another one has been erected nearby out of shot. There are a couple of ducks just lounging around in the foreground who really didn’t care about me being there with them to share this scene. This is one of my first shots with a new camera and I consider it my favourite.

This balloon followed us along the road.Somewhere between Lyrup and Loxton. Then hovered above our heads.
This balloon landed in a paddock. Unfortunately the clouds were building up. Making for a very grey sky.Ballooning is an activity everyone should experience.A way to relax , escape and enjoy the peaceful surroundings and unwind.Having been up in a balloon before this was a completely different experience following them.A bit like the tornado followers in America but without the dangers.Something different for a great weekend. The Riverland , S.A.is a beautiful place and should be on everyone’s agenda.
