  • Let there be light, and there was light. And it was good …... This image was taken in Upper Antelope Canyon near Page, Arizona. This sandstone cavern is located on the Navajo Indian Reservation and is only accessible via four-wheel drive truck and with a Navajo guide. There are a few holes in the ceiling, which let in this perfect beam of light. This place will be visited again, there also is a Lower Antelope Canyon which I didn’t get to see – YET …... • All proceeds from sales from will go to the / TorontoHumaneSociety You love the roses – so do I. I wish / The sky would rain down roses, as they rain / From off the shaken bush. Why will it not? / Then all the valley would be pink and white / And soft to tread on. They would fall as light / As feathers, smelling sweet; and it would be / Like sleeping and like waking, all at once! Roses by George Eliot

  • ink on watercolor paper. 11” x 14” meant as a sort of joke. / I was in the starbucks on the corner of franklin and highland around january last year when i drew this as a sort of commentary about all of the fancy super-hero costumes people wear around there…

  • This was taken on a bright sunny day in June in the dark woods that surround the lower falls. I was very satisfied with the lighting, which added a fairly dramatic effect. But actually the image came out even better than in it looked in person, which was a gift in itself. All content & images © Stephen Vecchiotti. • This was my first experience at the lower Falls in Letchworth. I really enjoyed the view! It was so trying without my tripod but worked it out!! I hope you enjoy it. / Nikon D50 18-70mm Nikon Lens October 2008 / /

  • Inside Lower Antelope Canyon in Page Arizona. A magical canyon. Every step brings inspiring compositions. Be careful of the weather. They usually monitor the possibility of flash floods and don’t allow entry when these are forecast. Getting into the canyon is the only thing that gave me pause. There is a narrow slit in the rocks and a long metal staircase, but once you’re in, you will love it.

  • Scott Kelby’s Second Annual Worldwide Photo Walk / Old Port, Montreal Quebec, CANADA / Saturday July 18th 2009 8:30 to 10:30 AM / It was a very wet and rainy morning. / Nikon D40, Nikkor VR 55-200mm lens / Taken inside the garden courtyard of a restaurant. / The Jazz combo was taking a break! / “Double basses are constructed from several types of wood, including maple for the back, spruce for the top, and ebony for the fingerboard. It is uncertain whether the instrument is a descendant of the viola da gamba or from the violin, but it is traditionally aligned with the violin family. While the double bass is nearly identical in construction to the other violin family instruments, it also has features which derive from the viols. Like many other string instruments, the double bass is played either with a bow (arco) or by plucking the strings (Pizz). In orchestral repertoire and tango music, both bowing and plucking styles are used. In jazz music, the bass is mostly plucked, except for some solos (and also occasional written parts in modern jazz) which are performed with the bow. In most other genres, such as blues and rockabilly, the bass is plucked.” / ~Wikipedia Softly As In A Morning Sunrise/Christian McBride

  • Taken in Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming, USA. Pretty much a tourist snapshot of the Falls, which I thought I would share with you ! / A rather crowded place, justifiably so, who wouldn’t want to see this sight ? The Canyon has some amazing colours, and I found the best time was towards evening to be viewed at it’s best. The vertiginous slopes are very loose and crumbly, and I wondered how those trees maintain their perilous foothold !! Shot on a Canon EOS 40D, polariser, tripod, f22, 1/3 sec, iso 100, auto wb, RAW file processed in PS CS3, levels/curves/selective colour adjustments.
