Originally shot on velvia in available light and if you look really closely the model has a camera in her crotch. :) / This is a companion image to “Bloom” these look really good framed. hint hint :)

I am a sap for romance… I like to be swept off my feet as they say. This shot is representation to me of what romance is. A sonnet by Mr. Shakespeare, ( 116), and a Jane Austen book ( Emma) and a rose( even if my favorite flower is a Daisy). / What can I say, I like to be romanced.

It leaves the safety of the cocoon in it’s new form. This is an excellent image for anyone contemplating, or in the midst of a major change. A butterfly is a strong symbol of metamorphosis, with distinct stages. The butterfly is a reminder to make changes when the opportunity arises. Change and transformation are inevitable for us all, but it does not have to be traumatic.Butterfly symbolism is also closely tied to the idea of spirits and souls. It has been used in many religions and cultures. Psyche is the Greek word for both soul and butterfly. The belief was that butterflies were human souls searching for a new reincarnation, which gave the creature uncanny and sometimes ominous connotations. This symbolism was also used in early Christianity as a symbol of the soul. Celts thought that women became pregnant by swallowing butterfly souls. Oh man I’ve been dying to work on one of my illustrations lately. In between all the experimenting with my video art and everything involved with my Uni major project, it feels really good to sit down and work on one of these. / The title comes from the lyrics in a song called Unstoppable by Mako, written by Declan O’Shea. The song is one of my all time favorites, beautifully written with a strong emotive undertow that carries through the track. / My thanks to Declan for writing such a great song. It’s very inspiring to me.
