They want me to write a gratefulness diary. Those folks at the Anxiety Disorders Association of the good old US of A. They say if I do this, I will get out of the future ‘What if I never get out of this?’ and the past ‘What if it stays the same as it has been?’ and get stuck into this breathless moment. The now that is so supposedly perfect. Not marred by the darkness of past. Or the void which looks to be the future. They want me to be grateful about now. Right now. Now, as my body shakes so hard I’m afraid I will kick my head with my knees. The now when my fear of throwing up is stopping me from eating anything. And the now when I fear starvation so badly I keep shoving morsels of food into my mouth so that I don’t starve, making me even sicker, even more queasy. They want me to be grateful for the now. Last week I was at the movies, a free movie, season tickets won by my writing skills, loving every moment. Even bad movies can be good when they’re free. The sky was large above us, a limitless expanse. And I was free, unlimited as the sky. Free from panic, free from woe. I have a photo. Me and Chris under a great fig tree, smiling. Wishing the summer would never end. Today I can barely step outside my door again. The corridor sways and I know I must. I walk, count my steps, one, two, three, with the rapid metronome of my heart. This monster has been unleashed again, but I will not be taken hostage. I will not visit this closed in space again. Not for long. No. And I count my way out to the park, fifty, sixty, seventy steps. And I sit there on that bench til my heart stops boxing against my lungs. Every day in every way, life gets better and better. And I think how much I dislike the person who made that phrase. Why do I have to endure this again? Why can’t I be that person of last week? And I get in my car and I drive again. I drive my block. And I round the corner again, and my heart threatens to break the land speed record, and I carry a plastic bag at my side if I should balk. Just like I used to, before the dawn of time. Why? Why? Why? But there are no answers. Just the switching on of the car, that familiar park I got to know so well ten years ago. Before life began again. Before the movies, and bush regeneration, and the macro world of my insects so open and wide and brimming with life. I have to make this shaking stop. Somehow, I need to go back one week. Not ten years. I have come so far since then, travelled a world of blocks, shops, parks, homes, since then, learned so much about courage, hope, tranquillity. I need to switch the light back on but I can’t remember, how did I do this last time? I counted my steps until I didn’t have to count any more. I turned the key, when all I wanted to do was stay in my room. I picked up my camera, and focussed on the growth of life outside. It doesn’t help to ask why anymore. It just is. And I know what I have to do to get back. I just need to keep opening that door. Keep turning that key. Today, heading out into the cool Autumn sunlight I forgot to count my steps. And so my journey back has begun. It won’t be so long now. I’ve visited here before.

Whilst reading a @webgrrl post , these two statements got me writing: 1. Self love is much more rewarding :) / and 2. No better Love than the Unconditional one…. Statement 1 is good and important. Self-love is self-confidence. It’s about using your talent constructively, establishing who you are through your actions, and having a direction in life. Self-love also helps you to know that everyone and everything can and will change – and knowing what you are going to do when it happens. Self-love is often all we have. Statement Two is interesting yet also true. When we place conditions on our friends and family, we constrict their self-worth, we stifle their inner-selves and we breed doubt in their minds. / (_Hmm, family might read this…_oh well.) Whereas unconditional love says we enjoy being with someone despite any foibles, habits or faults. Unconditional love tells a friend when they’ve made a big error, when their art is not, or when their under-arm deodorant isn’t working! Most importantly, having friends whose love is unconditional will mean you will be told when your path/choice in life is changing the person you are, thereby making you a different yet better (or worse) person! The family and friends we’ve all suddenly gained on RB certainly allows us to be more creative, to learn from our mistakes, and to travel the preferred journey – and get appraised for our efforts along the way. In all communities, artists are a necessity: They help foster imagination, they put pictures to the dreams of many and they encourage conversation. Can you find a museum or exhibition anywhere that has failed to gain an audience? From the pavement-chalk-artist to the island-wrappers of this world, everyone loves to view, explore and talk about art. This started as a comment on @webgrrl’s journal, but got so long

Several weeks ago, I have entered five photographs into a photo contest “People” of the Czech photography magazine PhotoLife . Last week, I have got a print of PhotoLife #64 (April/May 2008), and found that my photograph Illuminated is one of 49 published entries! Except of that, With love… was stamped as Chosen, which means it was also one of the finalists chosen for publication, only did not fit into the page layout (considering harmony of all photographs to be published at one page…) as desired by the publisher. Considering it was my very first contest entry since I have started to take photography really seriously, I’m happy :)

There has been so much trouble in my life, / but i did not give up with out a fight. / As i beleave there was somethings that i was right / in saying and doing that people didnt like. I must say there has been some good times, but more so bad, / that has made me all so sad, and yes at times very mad. I have laughed and cryed so many times throw out the years, / that has left me with many tears and scarey fears. It then becomes night and i close my eyes, just to have all these nightmares / and frights. Its not right. But all i can do is hang in there and not give up without a BLOODY good fight / and use all my mite. / As for one day i hope to make it all right. By: Belinda Meers.

In my family there have been several generations of healers, seers and artists. / So you could say that it’s in our blood but it is giving me great pleasure to discover that my oldest grandson, Joshua who is 13 years old is a gifted artist in his own right. He is presently showing on this site his summer series called “Josh’s Mad Dozen”. In this series we get to see the world as our youngbloods see it. Needless to say, I am very proud of his work and wanted to share it with my Red Bubble family all of whom are newly very important in my life. So I thank you one and all for taking the time to view his work and leave him messages of encouragement. Josh, who is usually very quiet and watchful, has embraced our community/village here and is smiling wider and wider with each / trip to visit here. For which I am ever GRATEFUL. Thank you for your giving hearts and minds. / One love, indeed. (Thank you, Bob, for that one) / I am at peace, / Sassafras :))

Thank you so much to all the members of the Paws N Claws group who voted for “Bosco” in the Brown and Beige Dogs!!! Challenge and placed him in the Top 10!!! He will be so pleased. :)) / And a special thanks to the hosts of the APBT Lovers Group for recognizing “Innocent Love” as the winner of the Affection Challenge along with A Little Boys Best Friend by Jenni Atkins-Stair and Tender Moment by Lover1969. There was a three way tie in this challenge. Tender Moment was chosen by Red Bubble…but all 3 shots had the same amount of votes. This seems to be happening quite a bit on here. The APBT Lovers group gave recognition to all 3 shots…but from now on has decided that the winner chosen by RB will be the winner despite the votes. Just too much work to keep up with. Maybe this will get straightened out one day. In any case I appeciate the gesture. INNOCENT LOVE / PRECIOUS MOMENT / A LITTLE BOYS BEST FRIEND /

Hey folks, I would just like to introduce you to a very good friend of mine that has FINALLY uploaded some work onto Redbubble. She is a very busy woman, so things move slowly. But check out her work and leave her some love if you dig it. Kaz Seed. She has a penchant for film and finds digital cameras a little scary, but I am slowly teaching her.
