A misty morning blended with an image by Marcus Ranum in CS3. The lady’s forlorn demeanor and “all dressed up with nowhere to go” image made me think of Karen Carpenter’s song “Looking for Love…” / Though people say love is everywhere, / I’m looking for love, but it’s just not there For those interested, the background image was processed, the figure placed (which automatically gives a second layer) and blended using the opacity slider, “blend if” options in the blending mode, and erase tool. A shadow was produced with the burn tool, and light controlled on the figure with dodge, burn, and a white brush at about 5%. The blur tool was also used around any hard edges to help the figure blend into the b/g and not appear sharp and ‘dropped in’. Most of these actions were done on separate layers in order to be able to switch them on and off individually and ensure the correct effect was achieved. It also prevents ruining the whole image – if something doesn’t work, just delete that particular layer! My Bubblesite also shows works in categories. Acrylic with metallic and glitter overlays on gallery wrap canvas, 40×40cm I should be feeling fantastic, my spirit should be soaring – instead I find myself earthbound and full of pain. Having stupidly broken my toe on Monday (the first broken bone ever), and being unable to take pain meds I just feel like crap. So I paint. This is for my sons girlfriends 18th Birthday and the symbology is clear (well, to me anyway) – but you can add your interpretations please:) Its also based in the song that I played a lot: INXS – Afterglow: “Touch me and I will follow in your afterglow / Heal me from all this sorrow / As I let you go I will find my way when I see your eyes / Now I’m living in your afterglow…” reproduced in part all credit and copyright of these lyrics belong to INXS

Mother is sick. James 1:27 Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world. In the midst of so much suffering, Jesus is always there to comfort, heal and strengthen. Like me, Leah draws strength and peace from her heavenly Father as She talks to him in Jesus name. There is no greater Love, or deeper heart of compassion than Gods heart toward all people, regardless of their Race, Color or background. To me He is my reason for living and my inspiration to help those in need. This is why I and the small team of unpaid volunteers work around the clock to help children like Leah and her family.
