I’m personally not a fan of Valentines Day as I don’t feel I need one day in the year to show love, but what I do love and appreciate is the simple things. I don’t like extravagant presents or gestures, I much prefer a simple daisy picked from a field and a hand written love note.. I think these simple gestures are slowly being lost in the commercialism. Anyway, This is my interpretation of simple love…..

I will never forget taking this photograph, as I was standing waiting for the ferry to come. Anyone who has been to rural Africa will know that things runs on African time. That’s why I call them Last minute.com. After three hours, these two guys came to me and said the ferry Had broke down on the other side, and that they would take me accross. So I got in, with all my camera equipment and a very wet Interpreter, who fell into the water. / One the way accross I suddenly realised that the large boat coming straight towards us was the Ferry. It was so funny. The fishermen refused to take any payment, as they said it would bring good fortune to the, as they had a white man in their boat. they both recieved Jesus as Lord and Saviour. I was captivated with the beauty of it resting softly on the lichen blanketed lava rock and the contrasts of soft sensual beauty with the rough textures of the hardened magma. Of course I instantly stopped and photographed it. It is one of my favourites and I am happy you enjoy it

Thank you to all of you who have donated and prayed for little Grace. She is now in good health and has made a great recovery. Praise God, I am so happy right now. Grace and other children who suffer so much Inspires me to work 12-14 hours per day sharing their plight with others and fund-raising.. I have not had the good fortune of ever having a salary for what I do. but God rewards me in many other ways. To see a child tat would have died now live and smile is wonderful. To empower the poor with more than just hope is what I live and work for. In Tunga/Zuga village, a remote village in Kebbe state Nigeria, there are so many children who are without ANY source of help. The village has no source of clean water, since their well collapsed in 2006. Intestinal worm infections, river Blindness, Chronic Diarrhoea, Malnutrition and other preventable diseases are killing and disabling many. We are making a difference and with your Prayers, Donations and support we can not only save their lives, refurbish the old school adn give them education. Macro of a red rose with waterdrops taken with a Samsung GX20 and a Sigma 50mm macro lens. Straight from the camera (except for the RAW conversion process). Roses are ancient symbols of love and beauty. The rose was sacred to a number of goddesses (including Isis and Aphrodite), and is often used as a symbol of the Virgin Mary. ‘Rose’ means pink or red in a variety of languages (such as Romance languages, Greek, and Polish). A red rose (often held in a hand) is a symbol of socialism or social democracy: it is used as a symbol by British, Irish, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Norwegian, Danish, Swedish, Finnish, Brazilian, Dutch and other European labor, socialist or social democratic parties. This originated when the red rose was used as a badge by the marchers in the May 1968 street protests in Paris. The White Rose was a World War II non violent resistance group in Germany. A bouquet of red roses is often used to show love. It is used as a Valentine’s Day gift in many countries. On St George’s Day in Catalonia people offer dark red roses as gifts, especially between lovers. The Virolai, a hymn to the Virgin of Montserrat, one of the black Madonnas of Europe, begins with the words: “Rosa d’abril, Morena de la serra…” (April rose, dusky lady of the mountain chain…). Therefore this virgin is sometimes known as “Rosa d’abril”. The red rose is thus widely accepted as an unofficial symbol of Catalonia.

.Please Read this. This really was a special moment for me. I never knew that Lenti and the other children in this village had never seen a Biscuit/cookie before. She looked at it for almost 3 minutes and only began to eat it when she saw a member of our mission staff eat hers. Lenti is a precious little girl who was very ill when she came to our Mission Centre. Medicines alone just could not save her life. We prayed and trusted God to heal her and he did. We provided lots of Love and High Protein biscuits/cookies and Multi-vitamins, provided by you, whom we and the Lord depend upon. This gives me so much joy and drives me even harder to raise the funds to save and bless many more like Lenti. / My Passion and inspiration is God given, and although I lack Finances, it has never stopped me blessing these children.
