This was taken as a family photo that the kids are giving their mother for mothers day 2009. We took photos down near the bridge their mother grew up living down the road from… she probably has tonns of memories of her childhood, playing at the bridge and down the dirt roads… This picture i feel is symbolizing their mothers life growing up and how amazing it was, and knowing that her kids are growing up with amazing memories too…in the same town that she grew up with her memories. I created this image to illustrate the song Journey’s End – which was written by Jamie and me (he wrote the lyrics, I composed the music). The above video was put together by Jamie about a year and a half ago and features all his own photographic work. You will recognise a couple of the images that make up this manipulation from when they appear in the video. The main portrait is an image I took just a couple of days ago. This manip was put together in photoshop utilizing a number of techniques. I began with the main portrait, created a duplicate layer which I applied the dark strokes and guassian blur filters to and Multiplied over the original. Then I added Jamie’s images, and blended them using Linear Light (on the image where we are walking away from you) and Hard Light (on the one where we’re walking toward you). I then did the “Leader Method” (a duplicate layer converted to black and white, with the rough pastels filter applied to it, selectively erased to bring out colour and detail where you want it) to my main portrait, and blended all the layers in by carefully erasing bits here and there. I overlayed the whole thing with some of Jamie’s original grunge texture, then flattened the image. I then applied the Orton Effect to the whole thing, and finished it off by applying a layer of my texture (using the Soft Light option). And, voila! you know its so funny….. my husband drives me crazy because he is so critical of everybody.. it is part of his humor.. he can actually do stand up if he was not working 11 hours a day. he is my hero in so many ways.. he listens to quite an eclectic style of music.. and this one is definitely not for everybody.. but I wanted to let you know . anytime this song appears he runs to grab me and dance this one with me he says its exactly what he wants to say to me :).. and he adores the reggae beat with funk .. although he is a country boy.. pretty cool .. i think .. i loveya man .. even though we had a huge fight this morning when i was putting away the cd’s.. you forgot to put away again.. ♥♥.. sorry bout my loud mouth . but thats just me . ♥ / ( me, with my flipflops as i was going to dig into the water at the beach, and he had made me laugh again while doing so )
