Originally shot on velvia in available light and if you look really closely the model has a camera in her crotch. :) / This is a companion image to “Bloom” these look really good framed. hint hint :)

Thinking of me, Think of you. © All rights reserved :hinting Morning shot here: / Please see the rest of my portfolio. /

  • Although they (the City of Sydney) do a great job every year, I think putting a large beating heart on the bridge was one of their best ideas to date. That, and ‘Eternity’. I also like how, if you look along the left of the top of the arch, you can just see the tiny little bridgeclimbers going about their touristy business. Expensive (and you can’t take a camera), but a pretty cool thing to do.

  • This is an image I have ‘reworked’, I am in the process of going through all of my sisters wedding photos to do an album for her and this is still on of my fav’s – I guess that has something to do with the fact that it is my adorable little creature standing by the window, completely oblivious to what is going on around him – even in all the chaos of a wedding with my mother and sister fussing over the bride (my other sister), he just zones out and enjoys the view! Another shot of my sister on her wedding day:

  • Merimbula is on the east coast of Australia between Sydney and Melbourne.

  • Probably the last of the Opera House shots I’m going to be uploading for a while. This was taken a few minutes after House of Golden Light and just a bit further on towards the Harbour Bridge. There are often lovely sailing boats and things moored down past the Customs House and sometimes you can just be lucky with the light and the framing. In another small while all the light will be drained from this sky and the night lights will come on giving the whole area a completely different look again.

  • found a whole untouched box of slides today….. amazing and the first one out was the missing companion image to and at the end of the day .... makes a change from the deep brooding IR landscapes I’ve been putting up …... I’m pretty sure most people will figure out were this was taken and the old boat and the new boat framing this wonderful building are an interesting juxtaposition that speak about where we Australians have come from and were we are now…..... enjoy

  • Taken on the stairs of the Opera House, Sydney Australia.

  • An abandoned Victorian Italianate style house (c.1880-90) in Annandale, an inner city suburb of Sydney. Sitting proudly in a corner position of this hip and happening suburb, it had once been loved and cared for – if you look closely, you can see that one of the previous owners, at some stage, installed an alarm – a measure sure to deter possible intruders. Today, some of the lacework is missing, the fence posts have deteriorated, the concrete probably has cancer, the garden is full of weeds, steps to the front door are missing…will nobody love it anymore?

  • Acrylic on wide edged canvas, bird is textured with Dulux house paint, using a nail file to create the raised feathers. Par of the up coming Art Exhibition at the Art House Gallery, Sydney’s Northern Beaches area.

  • There’s a sense / Like an eerie knife through your spine feeling / That creeps from deep / Within / Any dirty midnight city That makes you turn / Eyes fear locked / Naked, white and shadowed To face something / Fleshy and scented like over ripe mango / Hovering in the shadows / Under / A red bulb haze It calls coyly teasing commandingly / In a voice you woke / Soft and warm to That / Very / Same / Morning (Sydney Tunnel – Devonshire St)

  • Have searched websites trying to find the correct name for this flower – it is not a Clematis, it is not a Scabiosa – all suggestions welcome!! A bit of experimentation in CS3 led to this result. Ten months ago I took and processed a flower from the same bush very differently Landscapes Trees Cards EOD Rusty Flowers Architecture Macro CatchAll DM

  • even on a rainy day with an umbrella / this is a special place… a place perchance, to fall in love… Balmoral Beach, Sydney / Acrylic on canvas / November 2008 / For Sale $250 View larger!!! / to see the two people on the bridge with umbrella!

  • Dave falls deeper….. Young gay love in the big, gritty city.

  • A misty morning blended with an image by Marcus Ranum in CS3. The lady’s forlorn demeanor and “all dressed up with nowhere to go” image made me think of Karen Carpenter’s song “Looking for Love…” / Though people say love is everywhere, / I’m looking for love, but it’s just not there For those interested, the background image was processed, the figure placed (which automatically gives a second layer) and blended using the opacity slider, “blend if” options in the blending mode, and erase tool. A shadow was produced with the burn tool, and light controlled on the figure with dodge, burn, and a white brush at about 5%. The blur tool was also used around any hard edges to help the figure blend into the b/g and not appear sharp and ‘dropped in’. Most of these actions were done on separate layers in order to be able to switch them on and off individually and ensure the correct effect was achieved. It also prevents ruining the whole image – if something doesn’t work, just delete that particular layer! So here’s one from my Canon G7 dollied up to make a simple but true statement. This one best viewed large Thanks Ben (‘Dave’) and Barry (‘Johnny’). You guys are stars – don’t you know it?

  • ... but love can protect us from age. Processed six months ago – another image that has sat in ‘file 13’ for a while! Created from a photo of a dying Gardenia, blended in CS3 with a scan of on old photo (which was part of an old album purchased at a ‘flea market’.). Frame and colouring also produced in Photoshop.
