Did this quick piece for fun.. I miss my old friend, Brown, a stray cat. And sometimes, before i sleep, i’d imagine this image in mind.. And i’d fall asleep feeling him close to me once again. I first drew the chibi and the cat in flash.. then i did the rest of the painting in photoshop.. I’m experimenting using mirrors with my macro work lately… and the other day I found a bunch of sequins along with these tiny stars. So I put them on a mirror with glitter and reflected this sparkly bow in the mirror for the bokeh effect… hahaha.. it’s a little complicated and insane so it’s a little hard to explain lol. Anyway… enjoy!! This one just reminds me of the holidays.. so Happy Holidays too!

Shot of the Moon with the words to the song “Aquarius”, originally sung on Broadway in the musical “Hair”, written in 1964; made even more famous by the 5th Dimension, in 1969. / The shot is for MIA’s newest challenge… Forty years ago, the intuitive words of a song called “Aquarius” brought the dawning of the new age into our collective awareness: / When the moon is in the Seventh house and Jupiter aligns with Mars. Then peace will guide the planets and love will steer the stars. / At dawn on February 14, the Cosmos actually embodies this perfect alignment to support our collective manifestation of love and peace and the dawning of the Age of Aquarius. The idea of sacred space has been one of the foundations of Native American philosophy throughout time. We see all life-forms as having their own life cycles, from the Stone (rock) people, to a Cloud person, or to a Standing (tree) person ~ they all have a space that deserves respect. Every creature being has its own territory and respects the territory of other animals. Two-leggeds (humans) also have a personal space that, if respected, becomes Sacred Space. This Mandala was created to represent ‘Sacred Space’ on the Blue Road to Spirit… teepees (home/shelter) in the cardinal directions: White/North; Yellow/East; Red/South; and Black/West (also symbolic of the 4 races). Day skies & Night skies, cloud people, thunder/lightening beings, standing people, mountains, sun and moon. Arrows of respectful friendship and feathers for the gift of respect. Sketch was photographed and painted, edited and filtered in Redfield Plug-in Fractilius, in photoshop7.
