In honor of the anniversary of my ancestors, The Cherokee (Tsalagi) – I wish to share a part of myself with all who have joined The Beginning of a new Trail... The Spirit of the Native Indian group has honored us all on this day and for this I am grateful. The photograph is part of an old quilt with the Cherokee Seven -pointed star which represents the seven clans; I am of the Bird Clan, our color is purple and our wood is Maple; the Owl represents my name “WindOwl”, this particular Owl is a barn owl that I rescued several years ago from being shot, then run over – I learned much from this raptor while we spent 9 months together, before his release. Shot of the Moon with the words to the song “Aquarius”, originally sung on Broadway in the musical “Hair”, written in 1964; made even more famous by the 5th Dimension, in 1969. / The shot is for MIA’s newest challenge… Forty years ago, the intuitive words of a song called “Aquarius” brought the dawning of the new age into our collective awareness: / When the moon is in the Seventh house and Jupiter aligns with Mars. Then peace will guide the planets and love will steer the stars. / At dawn on February 14, the Cosmos actually embodies this perfect alignment to support our collective manifestation of love and peace and the dawning of the Age of Aquarius.
