Ocean Beach, Northern California … what a gorgeous day at the beach… decent size waves crashing in caused a LOT of mist all along the shore! AWE-SOME! Isn’t it funny how at the beach everyone’s worries just melt away? My biggest draw to beaches … feeling free of worry. This shot is one that needs to be looked at carefully.. the best parts about it, in my opinion, are the silhouettes in the mist.. . if you look carefully (left to right…) you will see one about to throw a football, you will see a child riding on anothers back, random groups of people, friends, families, a girl with pig-tails digging in the sand… it’s just so beautiful to watch life. Live and love people… Thank you so much for looking!
The early morning sun streaming through the East window of our bedroom enhanced the warmth of this tender moment between my daughter and her father. She loved Saturday mornings because of the opportunity to snuggle up closer to her father when he didn’t have to leave for work. I relinquished my place in our bed to grab my camera and capture this special time. This picture was taken 10 years ago, and my little girl is now a teenager who still loves to crawl up into her daddy’s lap. On a spiritual note, I have spent many years trying to sort out the “character” of God… His presence in our lives, if He is demanding or compassionate? When I see this picture I understand the heart of a father towards his child and I can believe that I am cherished by our Father in Heaven. Some people believe there is no God. I can understand that too. But to borrow a quote from a favorite movie of mine, (Second Hand Lions) “Sometimes the thing we need most to believe in may or may not be true.” Whatever you choose to believe in, if it is good for your heart, then cling to it with all your might. Surely you are still our Father! Even if Abraham and Jacob would disown us, LORD, you would still be our Father. You are our Redeemer from ages past. / NLT Isaiah 63:16 A tender greeting for a Father’s Day card! / /
The Giant Panda is an endangered species and highly threatened. According to the latest report (2007), China has 239 giant pandas in captivity (128 of them in Wolong and 67 in Chengdu), and another 27 pandas living outside the country. It also estimated that around 1,590 pandas are currently living in the wild. However, a 2006 study, via DNA analysis, estimated that there might be as many as 2,000 to 3,000 pandas in the wild. Though reports show that the numbers of wild pandas are on the rise, the World Conservation Union (IUCN) believes there is not enough certainty to remove pandas from the endangered animal list. The day you were born, the whole world was blessed / These thoughts in my mind to you I must confess / The time has come for me to express my true feelings / You are the center of my thoughts and the essence of my being You brighten my days and lift my spirits / I have felt this for so long and now want you to hear it / For you have lifted me up from a life filled with sorrow / And made me realize there is always a better tomorrow So you may know the place you hold in my heart / You are always with me even when we’re apart / I truly believe what we have is meant to be / Just open your heart and soon you shall see What I am willing to do to keep a smile on your face / Just know that I’m here and will be ALWAYS… /beautiful poem by Brandon A. This is my old buddy Morgan and his beautiful girlfriend Steen. / When we met up this summer for pictures, this was the first time in 6 years that we saw each other!! We had met back in 2002 at Cadet Camp in Trenton and he was one of my very best friends there. It was Morgan, Me, Charlotte, Steve and David. The 5 of us looked out for each other and stuck together the whole camp. It was amazing. I loved seeing him again and showing him around my town! haha.

© 2009 Danilo Lejardi / (Mira is a red giant star estimated 200-400 light years away.) I felt so moved when I first read Dead Suns and Dying Stars, the poem by artist Lianne that I couldn´t help but trying to create an image inspired by it. I know a single image cannot express nor the visceral universe of this poem, neither its infinite subtilities, but it´s just my way of trying to deal with my own feelings and to draw things out. / Thanks from the heart, dear Lianne, for feeding our souls with this outstanding inspiration! Here´s the poem by artist Lianne Schneider. Dead Suns and Dying Stars Empty stars devoid of light, / ashen suns devoid of heat / litter the universe frozen, lifeless, / all dead or dying in the cosmos / winking out like houses gone dark. / And I am Mira in her death throes / orbiting the dead, cold core of you / my binary companion, love star whose / nearness once radiated light to me / whose chemistry generated atomic reactions / in my heart and in my superheated core- / the heat of our fusion the physics / of our intimate and co-dependent galaxy. / When your intense desire had cooled / and your inner fuel of love was spent, / your cataclysmic collapse became the trigger / that sent me hurtling through the cosmos / throwing off the light and heat and color / of all I had become in a fiery comet tail / signifying my fall from your grace. / A thousand light years from now / my death will still be emblazoned on the sky / for love dies no more quickly than a star. © Lianne Schneider October 2009
