I am intrigued by this selling business. I’m curious as to whether you actually sell that many works on redbubble. I will continue exhibiting my work on here regardless but I am interested at how well you do on this site. Tell me some stories about what you have sold and how many and stuff. Selling is probably quite taboo but I’m sure many of you are interested by it all. I am enjoying being a part of redbubble. It is a really sophisticated and easy to use site. xx Love Jess

I opened my email to find 22 emails from models wanting to shoot with me. (which is more than I get in a week some weeks) This seemed very very strange until I thought to do a few quick Google searches. I think Google and RedBubble were separated at birth. They love each other so much and I love them both :) Now I’ve got enough work to fill me up until July at least. Yay.

  • Playing the Popularity Game Without Caring if You Win or Lose
    by Stephen Mitchell

This started out as a response to Mundy Hackett’s recent article on his Journal , but like always … it got a bit long! So whilst it was originally aimed at Mundy, I’ve slightly modified to be aimed at anyone facing the same concerns: Online popularity is near impossible when you consider the ever-changing face of the WWW with a million images, articles and myspace pages being uploaded every few seconds … I’d have thought you’d be too busy marketing, selling and enjoying your photography to have time to worry about commenting, reciprocal or otherwse! So it surprises me that this issue is of any concern to anyone at all. Redbubble serves as a great gallery for our REAL-WORLD friends, family, plus potential and repeat clients to see what we enjoy, love and have available for sale. As for commenting and reciprocation … they rarely, if ever, equate to dollars in the bank. Yes, the whole RB community is so overloaded that nobody can stay on the surface for too long without being drowned in the masses reaching up for their five seconds of fame. So be it. We enjoy photography, right? WE’re selling, right? WE’re still here, WE have an established face and name, and WE’re in for the long-haul. That’s what matters. You and Me. US. As long as the minority (who have talent, skill, tenacity, and a ongoing desire to become better) continue to present their BEST work, they will succeed in selling their artwork on RedBubble. Not just showing off their artwork, but presenting to their clients what makes them good and how they are improving. Isn’t this what we are aiming for? By presenting my response here, I realise I open this up for discussion. Play nice. Pretend Mundy is your next client. DISCLAIMER: / This article probably doesn’t say any more than what’s been said a million times before. Yeah, well, sometimes it helps to rant a bit. This has been my turn. NEXT!!

Whole / 114 comments, 94 favoritings, 2164 views (and counting!) / / / What are words other than a messy jumble of letters / arranged and rearranged according to the sound assigned to them? For me to say “thank you” is the most unoriginal way I can think of to express my sincere gratitude and amazement at everyone surrounding me in this wonderful community. Now quite a while ago, I submitted a snippet of something much, much larger that was, and forever will be, meant for the love of my life, but which I also decided to share with all of you. Each of my pieces is a huge part of who I am, and this one is no different, so if you get anything out of it, just know that it is me, and in sharing it I am completely opening myself up to you. The one thing that caused my heart to melt, rather than break, was the fantastic response it has generated! I am genuinely floored by the kindness and well-wishes I have received from all of you, either through an endearing comment or an add to the favorites list. In my honest vulnerability, you have managed to encourage me and support me rather than tear me down with envy or laugh at me for being in love. It is truly something everyone should be able to experience; I only hope you all find it, regardless of when, where, or with whom. And I only hope that person finds it in themselves to love you back unconditionally for whoever you are, not for who they want you to be, or who they expect you to be, or who they think you could be. It really is the greatest feeling in the whole world, and I’m honoured that I am able to share it with you through my writing. Thank you for the endless opportunities to express my feelings, my being, my heart and soul with such beautiful people. I wouldn’t have it any other way :) / /

September 2008 ...That Fish Is Back Again!!!!!...

September 2008 ...That Fish Is Back Again!!!!! :D / Everyone’s artwork looks fantastic and thank you so much for the honor!!! ....and the fish thanks you too… ;) Mixed Media, 20” x 20” A Fish Out Of Water There’s more ocean in fish than fish in the ocean… Nature is wise, but Mankind… just bumbling fools. Learn from the living, watch water in motion, Don’t waste your time staring at small stagnant pools. Fish are content to live their life in water, Water is after all their life’s element. There’s no need for them to be an “achiever,” Living, staying alive… that’s accomplishment. But there was one fish wanting something “better”, He wanted “achievement,” he wanted a “first.” He leapt out of water, fins in quick flutter, Taking fast to the sky… but soon died of thirst… / Poem by Peter. J. Oszmann © 2003 / (Check out his other written works they are a delight!) You can contact Carrie at: carrie@carrieglennstudios.com and please visit Carrie Glenn Studios /

What a wonderful day to be on the Bubble! I was busy all morning and afternoon and just popped in for a quick look-see and what do I find??? Two of the sweetest people together! I am not much of a writer and certainly not a poet, so I hope you like my favourite sonnet by the great Bard himself!! Sonnet 116 / Let me not to the marriage of true minds / Admit impediments. Love is not love / Which alters when it alteration finds, / Or bends with the remover to remove: / O no! it is an ever-fixed mark / That looks on tempests and is never shaken; / It is the star to every wandering bark, / Whose worth’s unknown, although his height be taken. / Love’s not Time’s fool, though rosy lips and cheeks / Within his bending sickle’s compass come: / Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks, / But bears it out even to the edge of doom. / If this be error and upon me proved, / I never writ, nor no man ever loved. —William Shakespeare

What a day which I’d like to share with you :D I went to Grenfell (Central NSW) where dear friend & bubbler Noelene Davies was exhibiting her artwork, so impressive, especially when viewing her artwork all together – photo pending waiting the go ahead :D Also I went to an exhibition where I was fortunate to see work from Rosalie Dale IPA. Darren Stones, Gail & Sharon D .. all bubblers, I have to say the work was of such a high standard I was very proud to be a bubbler!!! On my return home I had a request to take wedding photographs in Coff’s Harbour on January 23rd .. what an honour!! And also found I had been featured in the Amazing Graves group with ‘Someone to watch over’ Many thanks And also the highly acclaimed group Australian Travel Photography and Writing. Thank you. Some days you just want to write home about!! Love Tai xx

You know, we are all very lucky to have so many places in the virtual universe to show off our work. We even have online shops which allow us to sell anything and everything from artwork for the walls to clothing and shoes to wear. And we enjoy having these shops for such a fantastic price … zero!! So I’d just like to send out a public THANK YOU to those that paved the way and created our fantastic world of red bubbles!! / You are the ones who started me on this wonderful journey by creating RedBubble… this in turn brought me new friends, new discovery, inspiration, and took me back to my old creative self (with a slight techy twist). For all you wonderful friends I met along the way… here are lots of {{{hugs}}} and xxx for you :D (gushy I know, but thats just tough!!) Just as a Look ma, no hands type of thing, here are a few of the places I was introduced to… Georgiegirl at Zazzle is a fantastic online store. Not that I’ve sold more than one badge (thanks to Udonchow) and even though it takes a while to do, it’s easy to add new products… of which are many to choose from! Apparently it has a forum to chat in too, but I’ll leave that alone. I figure I’ve enough to do and chatting in FB, RB and Twitter is enough for me!!! GeorgiegirlofRB chirps at Twitter somewhere to chat to myself via the universe. I love this place… its so simple to do. Just type out a thought or a few thoughts in mini chapters. From here I signed up for Tweburb and Twibes but have done nothing! Of course it would help if I knew what I was meant to do in them! On the to do later list :D I have a blog called Floating Around in Bubbles. Just a place to brag about everything… but so much for writing every week. But that last one was written in April or May… talk about slack!! Will get onto that today too. Now, what to write about? hmmmm… think think think (all that comes is the rhyme by Pooh Bear about thinking and rumble tee tums!!!). My newest portfolio is at Behance another place to show off my artwork and photography. It looks a bit blaze at the moment because I just joined up… I’ll add some artwork very very (very) soon! Georgiegirl_oz at Cafepress Not much happening there… its been a bit neglected. GeorgieGirlis at Flickr A virtual gallery of my photos. Named Georgiegirlis because I didn’t think of GeorgiegirlofRB (GG of RB) when I joined up. Hindsight is a marvellous thing… except my timemachine is on the blink!! Again :D / Time I gave my gallery some TLC and uploaded a few photos, which I’ll do today. edit… Just popped over to open it into my tabs. Geez its changed a bit!!! Oh well… next on the must do today list is CP and Zazzle! Plurk not that I’ve been there for ages… my lack of karma shows that! Never mind… it was fun while it lasted!! I’m sure there are more because I’ve so many bookmarks in this browser!! I don’t think I’ll add ‘cleaning out the bookmarks’ to the list of jobs to do, because that’ll take sooooooo long. Its like cleaning out the bookcase (who does that?) or toy cupboard… you end up either reading or playing with whatever you’re cleaning out!!! Or is that just me? hmmmm…

Just went to check the dates on my calendars and noticed that my Love Calendar has hit 1000 views. This is fabulous news and I want to thank all my friends on RedBubble who have commented, favourited and visited my Love Calendar. I would also like to introduce my Goddess Calendar for 2010. I just uploaded this calendar last night. I drew my 12 goddesses over a 15 day period in July from the 11 July to 25 July 2009. The first 7 I drew in 7 days. I have uploaded the drawings in the order to which they were created. I have had an astrologer look at them and she has told me which image goes with each astrology sign and suggested I may want to upload them in that order as well. Something to ponder. Also I would like to share that I have been on RedBubble for two years this month this September…Yeh…and what a beautiful two years they have been. I am thinking of uploading a special Calendar with my top 12 viewed paintings and drawings as way of celebrating these two wonderful years. To say RedBubble has changed my life is an understatement. Meeting so many talented and beautiful people here on RedBubble has enriched my life. I feel that I have grown as both an artist and as a person having come in contact with you all. This is a web based community that is thriving because of the support, inspiration and sharing of like minded people. So a big thank you to all my beautiful friends for your comments, favourites, critiques, for viewing my work and sharing all your beautiful work with me aswell. I want to say these two years have been a wonderful experience and I look forward to the next two years. Lots of love to you all, Anthea
