WARNING: Viewer Discretion Strongly Adviced! This is my first wake-up call in my domestic Violence series. On my old art account I created this series and got quite attention for my work. But what is my goal with that? To manifest with my art that world peace starts at home and you can only end Domestiv Violence when you face the issue and cannot look away from this rapidly growing problem. Could you look away from this artwork? Does this completely caught your attention? It should since those are worlds millions of people hear right now in this very moment and even worse. Did you know: - Around the world, at least one in every three women has been beaten, coerced into sex or otherwise abused during her lifetime - The most rapid growth in domestic relations caseloads is occurring in domestic violence filings. Between 1993 and 1995, 18 of 32 states with three year filing figures reported an increase of 20 percent or more. - In a national survey of more than 6,000 American families, 50 percent of the men who frequently assaulted their wives also frequently abused their children. Slightly more than half of female victims of intimate violence live in households with children under age 12. Studies suggest that between 3.3 – 10 million children witness some form of domestic violence annually. And this is not even the tip of the Iceberg, those are just a few noted statistics, but it is fact that this is not even the half of all “happening” cases around the world. What drove me to make this series? A lot. Someone very close and myself come out of violent families. My life long I have been treated like the sun wouldn’t shine for me too. Years long I have been hid from reality and locked in darkness, I lost my childhood and my youth through domestic violence and I can say that today strong like a rock. My life today is a lot better, my wife gives me the love I never had and felt and I give her the same back in my adornment and service. Unfortunately many woman/children/men go through this hell this very moment but the only problem politicians care about is to build up the nuke stock in their rocket facilities. They rather care to invest more money in war and weaponary as to support families, women and children who deserve a chance to live a happy life like our human and religious right tells us. I want to catch your attention with this image to say to you as a brother of this world, that you have the same rights to live as any other person, your gender, your creed or race doesn’t matter since we are all the same human, the same valuable and same unique and under the face of God are we all the same. Our lifetime is important and how we recieve our family, friends and even our neighbours will not be unseen, the generations will copy your behaviour and treat others the same. So…could you look away? I have a major plan with thi series since I would love to expand this as big as I can (even public plans), the next days will crystalize if I can move someones hearts or not. My son and I found this beautiful butterfly yesterday…...... Such grace and such awesome beauty….......... Life, what a precious thing indeed….......... I want to dedicate this to the awesome group Live, Love, Dream…....... You have each made me so happy! I am so very proud of you all and all that you are accomplishing…....... I recently attended a round-table discussion and workshop with a Human Rights consultation group, something which motivated and inspired me to think more about what Human Rights means for me as an individual, and for the future of my children and all Australians. I thought I would share this information as it effects all Australians and I know there are so many of you here on redbubble who think deeply and care about our rights as individuals, as Australians and as part of a global community. Submissions are being called for from people across Australia and can be emailed or posted in until 9th June 2009. So please consider checking out this website Take a moment to read and reflect upon the three questions asked there (and summarized below), and having a say on the future protection and acknowledgement of our rights. / The National Human Rights Consultation provides the opportunity for you to share your views on human rights. The Consultation is run by an independent Committee. The Committee is supported by a Secretariat in the Attorney-General’s Department. / The Consultation is a chance to hear people’s ideas about human rights and talk about ways to protect and promote human rights in the future. / Key Consultation Questions / • Which human rights and responsibilities should be protected and promoted? / There are different types of human rights – which ones are important to you? Rights protecting individuals from the abuse or misuse of power by authorities? Rights to access services like legal counsel or housing? Rights to maintain or conserve cultural identities or languages? Rights in the workplace such as striking or collective bargaining? Some rights can be seen to intrude on other rights (for example a common debate is between “the right to life” and “a woman’s right to choose”). Which rights should prevail when there is a tension? / • Are human rights sufficiently protected and promoted? / Sometimes we don’t think of our everyday problems as human rights problems. And how this compares to other countries? / • How could Australia better protect and promote human rights? / The Committee is considering: - a legal framework to protect human rights (or Human Rights Act) / - Parliament voluntarily respecting human rights / - human rights awareness campaigns You can share your views by making a written submission either online or by post before the 9th June 2009. / Your views and ideas will be documented in a report to the Government.
