Kiss
by Adam HowieThis work was inspired by an image I saw during a documentary I was watching, I used a screen grab of the image as a template. Which leads me to a difficulty I do not consider this to have been traced but rather I used the image as a mean to fill in blocks of colour and then through a series of painted layers and trying various things constantly referring back this is the image that resulted, changed not only in orientation from the original source but also the exclusion of some detail. I leave the decision to yourselves as to wither or not this counts as traced. At any rate I do not believe any of that really distracts from the work and its emotion.

Everyone was watching the great performance offered by some members of the Cirque du Soleil, in the Old Port of Montreal. Everyone… except this couple, too enthralled by each other to take notice of their surroundings. It seems that love can sing louder than a crowd. Played a bit with the late afternoon light in Photoshop to isolate the couple from the crowd just a little more. Focal length 200 mm / ISO-200 / Aperture f/8 / Shutter 1/100 sec.
