A once it a lifetime image. This hasn’t been altered or photoshopped in any way. Even in the plant world you can find love. A lonely mangrove hoping to attract another lonely mangrove. Taken at Weyba Creek, Sunshine Coast.

Sometimes one only gets to see part of the whole, but that part is so breathtaking that no more is needed, sometimes a person will only reveal a part of themselves, and over time one sees a little more and a little more and the glimpse grows and the picture becomes whole…

I love how water clings to different objects and creates such shapes… This is just an ordinary dandelion puffy thing after it rained one day. Taken with a Sigma 105mm macro lens…

It began as a pattern and a search for abstraction and happiness in shape. / It turned into circles and stripes. / Before I knew it, all eyes were looking at me: when I just need to be me. / Are they part of me, or something that passes. Or both. / Everything is one when immersed in the sea of love.

I took to “heart” the suggestions made by Chris and Cozmist and uploaded a second version of “Rooted in Love,” this one without the frame for those who might prefer this unique image without any frills. Hope this works better! Like I said in the original “Rooted in Love,” this tree root is on the northern periphery of our property. I marvel at its perfect heart shape and think it’s a little note from God to remind me of his undying love. I borrowed the title from the refrain of a hymn written by Father John Foley, S.J. / Here are the lyrics of that hymn: Dwelling Place / by John Foley, SJ I fall on my knees to the Father of Jesus / The Lord who has shown us, the glory of God. May He in His love give us strength for our living / The strength of His Spirit, the glory of God. May Christ find a dwelling place of faith in our hearts / May our lives be rooted in love, rooted in love. May grace and peace be yours in God our Father / And in His son. May Christ find a dwelling place of faith in our hearts / May our lives be rooted in love, rooted in love.

This is the actual shape of the canvas The shape of the canvas becomes an integral part of this painting to enhance the illusion of a three dimensional object. / “Metaphor For A Metaphor” is about our predilection for categorizing everything that we experience, whether it fits into our scheme of things or not. And then, ultimately, resorting to using metaphors when we can’t.. / Hence the box which is distorted out of context… The round peg into a square hole that we seem to love the most….
