having given myself the afternoon to spend with redbubble I’ve decided to post a wildcard image into the fashion competion. Originally shot on velvia in available light and if you look really closely the model has a camera in her crotch. :) / This is a companion image to “Bloom” these look really good framed. hint hint :)

Change and transformation are inevitable for us all, but it does not have to be traumatic.Butterfly symbolism is also closely tied to the idea of spirits and souls. It was just a moment, / but we could not foresee / that our time together here / would be so brief. It was not long enough. / How were we to see? / We could not have even known it / that you were stepping into eternity. This work was inspired by the poem Just before the dawn of two lives shared for just a moment and the memories that are left behind by separation. When we have lost someone, sometimes we can almost see them in the brief hours just before the dawn. Our thoughts of them and memories seem the strongest when we are alone. In our longings to hold them one more time, we reach out in the depths of dreams touching them at least in the hidden recesses of our mind. Driving along this alomost deserted highway we spotted this Love heart. An amazing piece of work, literally in the middle of nowhere. Hence the title, Love is all around…even in the middle of nowhere….. The bridge reminds me of an emotion of solitude, which is not to be confused with loneliness. The former leads to an internal peace and being one with nature and oneself while the latter was a feeling of being forced to be alone, deprived of freedom and choice. I used to call this photo “Peaceful Bridge” until a young patient of mine (at the time she was nine years old) explored the difference between solitude and loneliness. When the image was presented to him as an illustration, he exclaimed, “Oh, solitude is peace, inner peace!” And the true title of the piece was born.
