This is for my son Storm / who is the light of my life.
the one thing
My grown daughter is half Greek and spent the summers there as a child. One day while she was at the market with her aunt, a vendor who was a copper artist stopped her. The woman hammered those words in Greek onto a sheet of copper, nailed it to a piece of wood and gifted it to my daughter, who gave it to me. I do not know the source of those words, but they lift my spirits when I walk by where they hang on my wall… and when I think of them.

A poem about a mother’s love for her son. I wrote this about my son, Aidan, one night after checking on him in bed. I did not know that at that time I was pregnant with my daughter, Julia. I am not a poet and have never written poems before or since, but perhaps a combination of immeasurable love and pregnancy hormones were enough to produce one nice poem that I’m proud of.
The hardest day of our lives.
She danced like light could sew a picture / Through the needle eyed

A Glory, in my best description is what the rainbow light frees your shadow! I have seen my “Glory” paragliding. This amazing full-circle rainbow that eminates down upon the clouds when the sun is behind you. It is a blessing and a reminder that we are truly creatures of light, living in our beautiful HOME ~ Heaven On Mother Earth!

Black dog is cunning / but he is no match for you.
My 24 year old daughter was diagnosed with bi polar a couple of years ago. As a Mother I have never felt more inadequate in all my life. I have devoted years to keeping her safe and now I had met my match. This is something I could not fix and I felt helpless. / I have come to a different place now and realised that she has been chosen to handle this because she is so strong. / She is my inspiration, her determination and courage inspires me. / It is no accident that the black dog chooses to visit the most creative, artistic, determined and inspiring amongst us. / Love and light to you Lisa Published in the Redbubble book : Compassion, courage and friendship

Parents sing or hum lullabies ones we know or variations of the ones we know and sometimes make up nonsensical words soothing words which are not words at all just sounds. The magic and wonderment of a child held and beheld is indescribable and so are the little songs we sing or the words that are not words when we coo and make silly sounds to entertain and communicate with “eyes of my eyes” which is what I sang to my son….once in a while I sing it to him and he rolls his eyes all grown up…I just laugh….yup pretty silly in some ways….unconditional love makes you goofy that way with love.
Mother is love, unconditional / Mother is warmth, a simple hug, a small gesture / Mother is woman, strong & dependable / Mother is sunshine,...
