This is a mixture of pencil… charcoal… and pastels…
The serenity, that completeness that can be instilled in the embrace of a simple hug.
Mother and child, unmerited favor, minutes into this life, a child finds his heartbeat… his mom.
My neighbor Aida has the most lovely flowers; she cares for her 90+ year old mother. She will be thrilled to see the dew on her flowers this morning. I miss her mother singing her Budda chants in the early mornings on the cold days like today. She loves red of course! She is Chinese (-: For the Wat Family

Verse: A daughter is a little girl who grows up to be a friend.
This is a picture that my Mom had redone and gave to me on my 50th birthday! When I saw the picture, I was just amazed how how much love it radiated between us both! It still does to this day! We are so blessed to have one another, not only as Mother and Daughter, but as best friends too!!! Thanks Mom—you are the best!!
My late Step-Mother, Eleanor Basset Peacock, married my Father when I was 17 years old. I had moved into their newly bought ‘Strawberry Factory,’ which was an old canning warehouse, located in Rock Hall, Maryland on the Eastern Shore of the Chesapeake Bay. Both my Father and El were Artists. My Father tended to favor abstract, whereas El was more of a surrealistic Artist. Her works, some of which I privately own are beautiful treasures, just as my Father’s artwork is too! Eleanor helped me through a difficult period in my life. We soon became best friends, despite our difference in age! We both had a strong connection to the outdoors! Often in the evening, you would find the two of us crabbing with chicken necks off of the docks that were at our back doorstep! The Strawberry Factory was nestled in in a small beachfront Marina. During those days crabbing was excellent! However, sadly, due to run off from farmland pesticides, and an increase in boat activity, the water extremely polluted. Their was nothing that I couldn’t talk to El about! We’d have deeo thought provoking conversations in the upper part of the Strawberry Factory, while looking out throught large windows upon the water and often playing backgammon. We were so high up that we could even see the Chesapeake Bay Bridge on a clear day! Sailing was our love. My Dad always had a boat. We started out with a wooden 5×5 meter boat, which was sleek and fast! The bay could get pretty rough at times, but this girl loved it! The rougher the better! My Dad went on to design the Peacock 35’ sailboat, which has won the Governor’s Cup several times on the Chesapeake Bay. As far as I know, Ovation (his one of a kind boat), is still moored at Swan Point Marina at Rock Hall. The memories of El will always live near and dear to my heart! Before she died, I wrote her a song and played my guitar while singing it to her. She had dimensia, but I could tell that she heard every single word! Here’s looking up to you El, as always! It seemed only fitting that I put a water colored image of her from 1982, happily enjoying the sun after a swim in the tranquil, turquoise waters of Bermuda! Both El and I had flown over, while my Dad and Step-Brother, Rick Mead, raced the Annapolis, MD to Bermuda Race, in an Alman 36’. I sailed back with Rick and a few others. We had quite the sail of our lives!
