  • Blue is the colour of the sea, the colour of the sky…not always the colour of leaves. Nature forms the most beautiful patterns.

  • The underside of an Osteospermum flower against the blue of the sky. This image won first prize in the The Horticultural Media Association’s, 2007 Joy Harland Memorial Photographic Competition.

  • Second place in the Light up My Life…Lamplighters Challenge

  • Callistemon ‘Candy Pink’. A beautiful bottlebrush with amazing detail when observed closely.

  • These tiny balls of sand are rolled out of a hole by soldier crabs, after the tide has gone out.

  • It was the beautiful bud of this flower that I first captured my attention and inspired me to bring out the camera.

  • This in one of a series of images of the beautiful Cosmos flower.

  • This Emu was very happy to pose for me at the Melbourne Zoo. I fell in love with its eyes!

  • Meerkats are so cute to observe. This little one was photographed at the Melbourne Zoo.

  • The view looking out onto Broad Street from a third-floor window of the Divine Lorraine Hotel in Philadelphia, PA. The hotel, which has been abandoned since the late ‘90s, takes it’s name from the leader of the Universal Peace Mission movement, Father Divine (aka George Baker) who housed his followers on it’s premises. Shot on Fuji Velvia 50 film with a Rolleiflex medium format camera.

  • thirteen…a very unlucky number A combination of many layers using textures that I have taken one my of my ’’Texture Excursions’ to get this grungy image.

  • I was looking through Sally Omar’s ‘I love birds’ group, all the wonderful images and thought it was time to pay respects to a beautiful bird that lived with us for a short while…i have written a journal as the story was too long for here. Lorraine is on the left, the girls are less colourful in the birdy world!!! this shot is a composite, the background is mylor in the adelaide hills, where we live. the image of the birds was taken from inside their flight cage when we lived in woodville west ( a suburb near the city of Adelaide). it was my favorite image of the birds but the location was very distracting. Amazing what you can do in cs3. ..christopher xx

  • All depends on how you look at it. I’d prefer to think of it as half full. ♥ Some days I’m half empty and others, I’m half full. It all depends on my mood . Thankfully, it’s usually half full :-) Canon 40D, 50mm 1.8 Uploaded 21 July 2009

  • A collection of uncropped images taken with a reversed 50mm lens. An adjustment in contrast is all that has been made. Equipment used: Canon 40D, 50mm lens reversed Here’s how it’s done. Remove the lens from the body and turn it around. Carefully hold the body and lens together whilst looking through the viewfinder. As there is no longer any auto focus, you have to move back and forth until you have achieved what you want. Give it a go, but be careful as the lens isn’t attached!!! / Uploaded 8 August 2009

  • Another image from my play with my 50mm lens reversed. The business end of a fork! Converted to Mono in Lightroom2 Featured in Domestic Art Group and Live, Love, Dream, both on 27 August 2009 / Featured in RB Art 3 September 2009 Placed in the top ten of the Photography Fun, Macro Challenge / Uploaded 27 August 2009

  • Three daisies taken with the reversed 50mm lens. Taken on the same day as break-through Uploaded 3 September 2009
