This is Rocky my daughter and I’s latest addition to our family. / Rocky is the son of a pair of Championship Holland Lop Rabbits. The Holland Lop is very popular and well-liked by many rabbit enthusiasts, pet owners and breeders, because of its compact size and attractiveness. It ties as the smallest breed of the lop-eared rabbits with the American Fuzzy Lop with an ideal weight of 3.5 lb (1.4 kg) for showing in American Rabbit Breeders’ Association sanctioned shows,[3] although it is common for many to reach a weight of 5 or more lbs (1.8 kg). Their stocky, muscular-appearing body, is characterized by broad shoulders, deep chests, and short thick legs. The most common colors attributed to Holland Lops are fawn, fawn-white, white, white-black and black, as well as a shade similar to a tortoise shell.[3] The Holland Lop shares a color guide in the ARBA Standards consisting of well over twenty colors with the fuzzy lop. It because it is a dwarf breed, only half of all kits will be dwarf (one dwarf allele and one non-dwarf allele), while one fourth are called double dwarfs and will die soon after birth because they are underdeveloped, and one fourth are called false dwarfs and have inherited no dwarf gene. These will grow and live normally, however it will be nearly impossible to keep them in the weight range for showing and still be healthy. They can easily reach weights of 5 1/2 lbs
