The complete and real title is : “Poupée – InnerSelf”. I asked to myself : Stars… They bright the sky, our eyes, our mind & soul. They are inside of us. We always look for them, for these glimpses of lights and happiness. / Do we really know ourselves? / Do we realize that we have all of this inside of us? / What are we in fact? / As we don’t really look in the correct place, we don’t really know ourselves i decided to ‘almost’ delete the face. ABOUT MY EXHIBITION The woks exhibited represent the linkup of two artists, a photographer and a sculptor. Such an attempt to blend two spheres of art is really innovative and a bit unexpected. There had been few who were successful in such an attempt. Both authors, blending their art by the means of the photo art, are the winners. Sculpture, as such, is rather a static art, sometimes “performing” in a specific, sometimes artificial, environment. However, the means of the plastic photography, seemingly, make the sculptures movable, dynamic; they make you feel the sculptures are moving. They become alive, start moving and react both to the environment and the views captured by the photographer. I would like the viewers also note the colour solutions of the photos, aimed at the strengthening of the overall impression of the imagery. The original blend and overlapping of two arts let see the impressive plastic metaphors, giving birth to various associations. / / /

A shot I took at a little parc for children.I was with my grand-children and the parc was already closed when that peacock decided to open his tail…for the first time in my life I saw the splender of that special bird.

A misty morning blended with an image by Marcus Ranum in CS3. The lady’s forlorn demeanor and “all dressed up with nowhere to go” image made me think of Karen Carpenter’s song “Looking for Love…” / Though people say love is everywhere, / I’m looking for love, but it’s just not there For those interested, the background image was processed, the figure placed (which automatically gives a second layer) and blended using the opacity slider, “blend if” options in the blending mode, and erase tool. A shadow was produced with the burn tool, and light controlled on the figure with dodge, burn, and a white brush at about 5%. The blur tool was also used around any hard edges to help the figure blend into the b/g and not appear sharp and ‘dropped in’. Most of these actions were done on separate layers in order to be able to switch them on and off individually and ensure the correct effect was achieved. It also prevents ruining the whole image – if something doesn’t work, just delete that particular layer!
