If you are fortunate enough to see a western lowland gorilla, be sure you take a long look at it. They are critically endangered due to hunting, diseases such as Ebola, and habitat destruction. The outlook for this amazing creature is pretty bleak, as even protected groups of these animals have experienced massive population loss. So if you see one, be sure to take one long look, as that might be the only chance you will get… In conjunction with the Primates Group’s fundraising efforts, 100% of the profits from the sale of this image will be donated to Gorilla Haven.

Photograph taken on top of the Dome, Dawson City, Yukon Territory, Canada. / Summer solstice 2006, MIDNIGHT (June 22nd). / The sun that goes through the Inukshuk adds to the F-stop effect. Photography is a great way to capture what we want to remember. / Great souvenir for those of you who have traveled north to the Yukon and that have witnessed Solstice there as well. / A picture is worth a thousand words. / This one a thousand beautiful souvenirs.

This small rock pool is found in Cabbage Tree Bay, along the pathway between Manly and Shelly Beach on Sydney’s northern beaches. The sculpture/statue is known as The Oceanids. This image was a 30 second exposure nearly an hour before sunrise with the pool wall and sculpture lit up by a nearby street light. This image has also won a photo of the week at photographer Steve Parish’s Photograph Australia website.

I adore Sydney at night. This was me tripod-less one night at Circular Quay… I’m still tripod-less to this day. Long exposures kill me. Hehehe.
