My daughter allowed me six photographs before she became embarrassed and stopped the shoot. I attached camera to my bike helmet and pre-set the camera to fire on delay release (one second at F22 was successful). A bit hit and miss but managed this lovely picture. No wonder she was embarrassed!

I was spoiled for seascapes last week….as I am sure you will discover….tee hee! And yes Stuart…this is where I phoned you from. This was taken on the Plage De Pleuren in Brittany, France. Shot in RAW…some noise reduction and a tweak of the levels and thats it….....I have a number of shots from this area. I could have stayed in that part of Brittany for 6 months and photographed a different rocky cove every night…spoiled for choice!

Thought I would see if I could capture the feel of the tide approaching . Taken at dusk perched on rocks with the aid of a Benbo tripod with legs you can lock at any angle . The exposure was around 30 seconds at f16 using a Canon10D with a 17-34 Tamrom at 17 mm . I believe I achieved what I set out to do and find peace whenever I look at this picture . Its my screensaver at work and usually pops up just when needed and is without manipulation , as the camera recorded .

Just downstream from where the Franklin River joins the Gordon RIver in Tasmania’s South-West World Heritage Area. After rafting the Franklin River, it’s a bit of a shock to arrive here amidst a throng of tourists, a float plane, and a large tourist ferry… Limited to cards on RedBubble, this image is available as a limited edition print from my website © Doug Thost 2005 Tech details: Canon EOS1n with 20-35mm lens, 30sec exposure on Fuji Provia 100
