I love shooting at night, and generally am out alone when I’m shooting – it’s when I produce my best work (in my mind anyway). / / This is one of my favorite places in the city. You can sit here alone for hours, traffic streaming past, only the occasional pedestrian, while hundreds, or even thousands of people are just a few feet below. It’s both a quiet spot to find refuge, and a place that symbolizes the loneliness and isolation that can be experienced in a city of millions. © Sara Lamond 2007. Just. Don’t. And long after I drew this, I’m finally able to write down some of the description that was in my head as I painted her. / People say she’s abstract. This surprises me _ And something looked down and said “This is wrong”. And they were torn apart. And now she guards the gates of heaven for evermore, until her love is returned to her. And no angel may pass. On lighter screens, you can see the bottom edge of the wings quite starkly / – they’re supposed to nearly blend into the darkness (and my settings are right. I checked) / I discovered new ways to use ArtRage with this – the semi-transparent veils, for example, are thin lines of blur/soft palette knife. She’s waiting for you to die and try to go to heaven. Then she’ll tear your wings off and throw you back down to hell. As mentioned.. she’s a little irrational. /

I watched the weather turned stormy with excitement and decided to charge up the batteries in the camera for a full days photography. I hadn’t a plan I just wanted to get out of the office. / Just outside of Waddesdon, Bedfordshire, UK / there was this symmetrical tree. It still had foliage on it in a green leafy field which looked so surreal I had to take a photo of it. Then I had a play with it, oops. I hope you like it. Framed Print / Canon 5D, 24-70mm at 70mm, f/10, 1/400 sec, ISO 250. No filters used. Dust and scratches removed in PS and a Hue & Sat on the tree to make it a brighter red.
