I did this shoot in college for a portrait project where we had to recreate famous portraits. I chose to remake this one http://web.naplesnews.com/ceandw/122006/images/cal_MarilynBallerina.jpg / I got help with the lighting set up then I adjusted it and took it. My second time with studio lighting !! I got my make up done in the makeup department and the wig there to. / I wanted to do it properly. / canon 1000d

The setting sun adds color to slice of beach off the South coast of Maui near Lahaina. The ebb flow of the rising tides evident in the foreground where the water is ebbing and middle where a waves begins to curl as it comes ashore

Walking, talking, laughing, sneezing, coughing, running, looking, pressing, pushing, yelling, holding, pulling, arriving, leaving, guessing, shouting, moving, moving, moving. A sense of urgency floods the streets like wild light. Known and unknown sounds travel distances through the air and collide into blasts of excitement and adventure. Traffic flows endlessly through the intersections, carefully watched by billboards and office windows. A pedestrian crossing screams stop as a red light breaks the momentum and a few seconds are spared for reflection and a sigh of solitude.

The water was so clear over in The Maldives that you could clearly see from about 15 meters away. I miss it :)

This image is the 1st in a series of 3….. My inspiration behind this are all the lovely wedding images that I see; full of hope, happiness and love, but as we all know the divorce rate is very high and unfortunately many of the beautiful and happy couples divorce… It makes me wonder how would these couples feel if they knew that a few years down the road and a couple of children later, their union would end in divorce. These are the emotions I have tried to capture and portray in my series. And I would like to add a huge thank you to my model and best friend who was also my inspiration as she too recently divorced but was still brave enough to get back into her beautiful wedding dress for this shoot.
