The Compact Cassette, often referred to as audio cassette, cassette tape, cassette, or simply tape, is a magnetic tape sound recording format. Although it was originally intended as a medium for dictation, improvements in fidelity led the Compact Cassette to supplant reel-to-reel tape recording in most non-professional applications. Its uses ranged from portable audio to home recording to data storage for early microcomputers. Between the early 1960s and early 2000s, the cassette was one of the two most common formats for prerecorded music, first alongside the LP and later the Compact Disc. The word cassette is a French word meaning little box.

The Logo As you’ll remember from this we set Xavier the challenge of redesigning the logo on pain of biscuit deprivation. However the sneaky man went vegan at about the same time just to thwart us. But he still came through with the goods, which now adorn the top of every page for a day or two. I, for one, think it reeks of awesomeness. And all he used were these, in fact, only about two of these: And to show that he’s not wasteful, after the shoot, he then proceeded to make two huge toasted sandwiches, and promptly ate the logo: He was extremely encouraged by all of your support, and thanks you. However at the time of going to press no one could comment on whether he had scrubbed his feet or not. The Competition In other news, the new Compassion competition (and group) has been launched, and Gaia has been closed. Other things We didn’t quite finish the other big things we were working on this week, but we’ll have a special RedBubble Wednesday this week (due to Anzac day). I’ve been thinking about doing arabized super hero style t-shirts since before doing the ’’Seen’’ Shield T . This is my version of the Wonder Woman current logo. The translation is the one they used in the old translated-to-arabic comics (which I don’t think come out anymore); its not a literal translation as its closer to Super Woman than Wonder Woman. A variation of this shirt can be found here.

My very first job was pumping gas for a small Mobil Oil Station on a country highway similar to the picture I’ve created here. I worked nights enjoying the big sky, bright stars and loved the Mobil oil flying horse. Various nocturnal creatures would stop by to say hello and sniff around. My customers were mostly local farmers and country people, I knew everybody on a first name basis and never got robbed. I remember at the time gasoline was twenty five cents a gallon. / It seems we now face the end of the cheap-fossil-fuel era. It is no exaggeration to state that reliable supplies of cheap oil and natural gas underlie everything we identify as the necessities of modern life - not to mention all of its comforts and luxuries: central heating, air conditioning, cars, airplanes, electric lights, inexpensive clothing, recorded music, movies, hip-replacement surgery, national defense - you name it.
