A dark path through a wooded area
I’ve taken this picture on a walk near Burghausen, Germany. The color of the cut wood is really amazing…
we stumbled upon this old log cabin style 1865 chapel in a munich park and as if requested by the resident angel a shaft of light appeared from the heavens just as the picture was taken
This is one of my favorite farms houses.
The light was hitting the log for an interesting shot!!
We didn’t see this when we took the picture but when I uploaded them, I was a little surprised to see the spooky face on the log. I love how light can play tricks!

This sculpted wood figure comes from a larger piece, of what I call, “streambed” drift wood. Worn smooth from the violent hydro forces brought on by untold spring melts and deep winter snows, this particular example takes on its own natural or maybe unnatural characteristics. I would like to say this was a photograph composed and taken with purpose and careful study, but that would be a tall tale. The recognition of its potnetial only became evident during viewing and processing. I will be the first to admit, that I do not always see the “real” photograph until much latter, but as they say, better late than never. / ________ Nikon D40 with 18-55mm GII lens / 35mm ~ 1/60’s ~ f / 6.3 ~ ISO=200 / Hand Held / Auto Focus / RAW / Processed in Nikon Capture NX 2 software / ________ / ________ / ________
