Wildlfowers and budding ferns in the spring woods.
A chipmunk ducks low, seemingly to hide behind the peanut he is hoping to make off with. Taken in Lynde Shores Conservation Area in Whitby, Ontario, Canada. / Taken with a Canon Rebel XS using a 55-200mm lens.
In early spring, as the snow melts, the meadows of the Eastern Sierras get completely flooded. This is one of many fisherman’s trails which lead across the meadow to the creek flowing into Silver Lake. It was very peaceful there and I ended up sitting against a nearby Aspen to enjoy the view a little more.
It is a perfect time here in SW Ohio to take a walk in the woods where there are small streams and lazy litle ponds teeming with life. This turtle was sunning himself on a log in the Rowe Woods and his red markings were so complimentary to the green everywhere that I felt compelled to catch his image. Canon 40D
Adobe wall and roof beams. Photographed with Mamiya RZ 67 and Fuji Provia film. Converted to black and white in Photoshop.
A perfect example of the nature’s sense of humour. I thought this was the most hillarious piece of wet & rotting wood I have ever in my life found or seen. I would have brought it home, except the log was bigger and longer then me. It sure made my day, as I chuckled all day through thinking of this piece of wood smiling at me. Boy the universe sure has a sense of humour!! Enjoy, oh and SMILE! ♥ The photo was completely untouched and non-altered in any way. It’s nature at its most finest. : ) Here is a perfect card to cheer someone up and just to make them smile.
Canon 450d / f 16 / 25 secs / iso 100 / 18-200 lens / Taken at dusk with nd filter ( otherwise the scurrying of boat activity, ruins the mood)
Lighthouse Park, Vancouver, BC, Canada
I love woodpiles…I don’t know why. Maybe because I enjoy a fireplace so much…maybe because of the fresh wood smell…maybe it’s the warm tones of the wood…I don’t know, but I do..
Log swing on a small island in Phang Nga, Thailand.
Taken at Buttermere in the Lake District, when I met up for the first time with friends from Red Bubble – Jason Connolly and Steve Smith. First R.B meet for me with them and I had a great day out. The clear blue water at Buttermere from this view was enough to make me stop and just soak it all in. This log seemed an interesting foreground, so I couldn’t resist a quick shutter release! Taken with a Canon EOS D450 with 18-55mm IS lens.
