Most of you know I went to Colorado recently… I’m still reviewing and editing the pictures. What surprised me in this shot, while editing in PS… I noticed mosquitos. There were SO many at this lake, it was driving us nuts. I can’t recall if we had bug spray before Steamboat Lake, or if we bought it afterwards. Anyway, I have some bird shots at this area, and you can see clearly the mosquitos around this bird (I will upload him later)... The bird was actually snapping and eating the flying blood suckers, it was amazing to witness. Look at larger view, and you’ll notice some blood suckers. =) Images copyright ©Kimberly Palmer / Copying, displaying, manipulating or redistribution of any image from this portfolio without permission from the artist is strictly prohibited

Man is nothing compared to what God is capable of, a fallen tree still looks beautiful and doesn’t complain, therefore man when fallen should make the best of his situation too. Kaz Sommers

I took this photo a couple of years ago while visiting Fort Stevens State Park in northern Oregon, USA. Fort Stevens was the primary military defense installation in the three fort Harbor Defense System at the mouth of the Columbia River (Forts Canby and Columbia in Washington were the other two). The fort served for 84 years, beginning with the Civil War and closing at the end of World War II. Today, Fort Stevens has grown into a 3,700 acre park offering exploration of history, nature, and recreational opportunities.
