  • Once again, it upset me enough to capture the image. Not really marketable but disturbing all the same.

  • Fear and Loathing paint job

  • A sketch I did, back in ‘04 (Christ, has it really been that long?) of a personal hero of mine, the Good Doctor, himself, Hunter S. Thompson. May he rest in peace. ‘Mahalo.’ Cast in negative and color corrected using my bare-bones b.s. imaging software.

  • CHECK MY PORTFOLIO FOR OTHER VERSIONS OF THIS TSHIRT a quote from Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. Another fundraiser shirt.

  • One of the most inspiring writers of the modern era.

  • Pop Art is a visual art movement that emerged in the mid 1950s in Britain and in parallel in the late 1950s in the United States. Pop Art challenged tradition by asserting that an artist’s use of the mass produced visual commodities of popular culture is contiguous with the perspective of Fine Art since Pop removes the material from its context and isolates the object, or combines it with other objects, for contemplation. The concept of Pop Art refers not as much to the art itself as to the attitudes that led to it.

  • October is a Memory Hammer
    by mstrace

There nothing in the air in October to slow down the pain that leaks from one person and into another. It transmutes like lightning. Flas…

My Father had and still has a profound influence on me. His story begins here And it continues here…made ALL THE MORE poignant for me when gifted photographer Mel Brackstone commented that she may have been channeling me while working on this photo, titled Melt Down and after looking at it I’ve gotta agree. If you read the entire story, of me and Dad, to the end…you may well agree too.

  • Client: Polluto Magazine 2008 Think about the body and gender; think about sex; think about the landscapes we live in, the ideals we strive for and the utopian dream; think about urban existence and disaffection; think about gonzo journalism and the collapse between fiction and non-fiction; think about weird places and strained interactions in a place full of strangers.

  • pencil and digital illustration

  • “I wouldn’t recommend sex, drugs or insanity for everyone, but they’ve always worked for me.” Hunter S. Thompson (American Journalist and Author, 1937-2005)

  • Hunter Thompson should really require no introduction. Quite simply put, he was THE man. But, if you don’t already know him, I guess now you do. The day the news of his apparent suicide broke was the first time a ‘celebrity’ death ever hit me like a sack of bricks. The only other one to’ve effected me in a similar way was that of Kurt Vonnegut, Jr. (Who, I imagine, will be another subject of mine, soon enough.) This man was and is one of my go-to guys, one of my all-time heroes in life. Another one-hour portrait. Oils on 8” x 10” canvas panel.

  • A Hero of mine. One of his quote says it all: ‘If you’re going to be crazy, you have to get paid for it or else you’re going to be locked up.’ More about Hunter S Thompson / —— /

  • Hunter Thompson / I need some god damn medicine

  • just looks for me like the first frames from this movie : / http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S_nvQ4JjSMY / http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhP9_7qSb8c the second fragment – ‘The Dope Show’ by Marilyn Manson connecting so good with Johnny Depp / HUH !!!

  • loathing me / loathing you / and the hell / you put me through / your sorry excuse for love / my believing somehow i deserved your cruelty / and your lies / my surprise / the torment i continued for myself / long after you were gone / punishing myself for trusting you / feeling a fool / taking up the cycle of abuse / you passed to me like a flaming torch / mind tapes stopped / started / rewinding / replaying / as the ghost of you faded / like fallen leaves / i cannot believe / i replaced your scorn / with my own hands / i stand against you now / and the power i gave you / the loathing subsiding / to a distant foam / that once covered me in drowning cascades / yet i remain here / strong without you

  • Well this is completely fucking weird and random and doesn’t make any sense. And it was taken exactly a year ago… and edited tonight. I have better photos from recent shoots to edit. But the last 24 hours I’ve been in a bizarre and insane head space.. no better way to take it out then to say I feel like this photo. It reminds me of David Lynch and drug movies (fear and loathing in las vegas). I will upload more stuff from my recent shoots. But I had to upload this. 2008 / Self Portrait, my nose is awesome. / and yes, that’s a wig on my head © Jessica Walker

  • O’, My Fragile Little Bane…
    by Kristin Reynolds

I hate that you know me so well, / mostly because I hate / to hate anything, / especially something that makes me / breathe fire / from my no…

i wrote this yesterday. I was pretty depressed, and my ego was showing in the form of the all-mighty evil one herself: jealousy! hate that! / Self-loathing sucks, don’t it?

  • Does anyone enjoy getting a shot? Alaska gets an allotment of the H1N1 vaccine. Oh joy. Nikon D200 and a Nikkor 50mm f/1.4 prime, 50mm, f/1.6 and 1/320 sec, -07ev, IS0 200, spot metering, manual exposure. Converted from RAW (12 bit) to jpeg using Nikon’s Capture NX 2.2. Why anyone would buy this baffles me, but I’ll post this anyway. /
