  • The Cry of the Curlew from a fictioninal novel but based on fact, is very involved ..In the early days of white people occupying and taking over the indigenous people’s land in outback Australia the native aboriginals were considered vermin and there was a determined effort to make them extinct, one way to do this was to poison their waterholes.;hence the two figures in the waterhole.I did this in similar way rock art is drawn, the legend is whenever there is a death the bush curlew cries I haven’t heard one, but they only cry when distressed and apparently the sound is really long mournful and once heard not forgotten. / / Pastel painting from the book Cry of the Curlew by Peter Watt / http://www.fantasticfiction.co.uk/w/peter-watt/cry-of-curlew.htm http://www.peterwatt.com/australia.htm About the Author Peter Watt’s life experiences have included time as a soldier, articled clerk to a solicitor, prawn trawler deckhand, builder’s labourer, pipe layer, real estate salesman, private investigator, police sergeant and adviser to the Royal Papua New Guinea Constabulary. He has lived and worked with Aborigines, Islanders, Vietnamese and Papua New Guineans. / He speaks, reads and writes Vietnamese and Pidgin – and has a reasonable grasp of the English language. He currently lives in Maclean, on the Clarence River in Northern NSW. Good friends, fine food, fishing and the vast open spaces of outback Queensland are his main interests in life. He also enjoys SCUBA diving, military history, crosswords (but not the cryptic kind) and teaching. He is a member of the Australian Institute of Management, the Australian Institute of Training and Development and the Australian Society of Authors. He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree (University of Tasmania), Post Graduate Diploma of Training & Development (University of New England) and an Associate Diploma of Justice Administration (Sturt University). / Peter’s publisher. Pan-Mcmillon purchased the original painting from me a few years ago and it is hanging in their Sydney offices. [this is a copy because the author wanted it for himslelf and I thought I would get around to it at some time so I could give it to him and I forgot to photograph the original properly]

  • © C J Lewis Mixed media of photography and digital art created using Apophysis & PhotoPlus6 air-brush tool. JANUARY 2009 FEATURED IN Unconventional Artistry group AND Core (C.O.R.E) group AND Music Inspired Art (M.I.A) group This art is also included in the Digital Collection #2 2009 Calendar which you can see Here Based on a spiritual experience when 13yrs old. In a dream I was taken in spirit to the top chamber of a pyramid (above the Kings Chamber) where I was placed on an alter and a vibrant white light came shooting down from the heavens through a pin hole in the top of the pyramid and spread over and through me while at the same time lights shot out of me…then all went calm and I woke up. Coldplay To me, Touched By The hand Of God means many things. God being the name I choose to use for the greater source energy that is within all and that we can access through our conscious awareness of being by which we can then connect to all creativity, transformation and knowledge for our life from within…the light that guides us by our conscious awareness of the gift of life we have been honoured to live. The light that guides from higher intelligence…to our intellect…our intuition…and gives us self control over the egoic mind, the old devil, that causes so much pain and sorrow not only in our personal life but also in this world. / MCN:C0793-EF08E-59B82

  • Barack Obama – Change for America, for the World, for All of Us – The Audacity of Hope On November 4, 2008, Barack Obama defeated John McCain and became the first African American to be elected President of the United States. In his victory speech, delivered before a crowd of hundreds of thousands of his supporters in Grant Park in Chicago, Illonois, Obama proclaimed that “change has come to America.” Born in Hawaii, Obama will be the first U.S. President born outside the contiguous United States. He also will be fifth youngest President at the date of accession and the second since Lincoln whose primary political base is Illinois. This portrait illustrates and epitomizes the audacity of hope. President Obama was sworn in as the 44th President of the United States of America on January 20, 2009. Selected information courtesy of Wikipedia. JANUARY 2009 FEATURED IN C.O.R.E group AND Unconventional Artistry GROUP BEST VIEWED LARGE I have also hand painted this in oils on stretched canvas 3’x 4’ that you can view here Tibetan Chant for Enlightened Mind The word Christ in Eastern terminology means the enlightened one, a vehicle of enlightenment it was not actually a part of the name of the man, that was called Jesus Christ. He was called Jesus Christ as he was Jesus, the man, who was enlightened and as such understood the energies, and therefore the process of life, in this world which is what sayings such as: “As you sow so shall you reap” and “As you give so shall you receive” and other such explanations referred to…the physics of the energies of this world. Enlightened, enlightenment basically means the understanding, the conscious awareness, of just being and living from the higher sense of the knowledge of self, the Higher Spirit which is directly linked to the Soul, the divine God essence of All, that is above the egocentric mind-set which creates animosities when emotions run high and reactions occur to the action of not thinking what is going through one’s mind…reacting in anger to a situation that has made you feel wronged or whatever instead of seeing the emotion for what it is…a bad feeling that urges you on to create a drama in your life. Such unconscious awareness is a form of mental dysfunction (mental illness) and causes reactions such as segregation, wars, killing, jealousies, envies etc and pits nation against nation. It’s also the cause of the many problems, both past and present, that creates suffering. © C J Lewis, Sydney, 2008. / MCN:C09C5-FFD05-4D484 Below is the photograph of a tree trunk that I looked within to create this art work.

  • Title: Innocent Partner / Medium: Acrylic on stretched canvas / Size: 500mm x 600mm / 2nd Prize winner in the Dunedin International Airport Art Awards / Original SOLD This was a painting I recently finished. It was an art challenge held by the New Zealand Art Guild. Four things ha to be incorporated in an artwork, they were: / innocence, orange, umbrella and triangle. Here is Little Red Riding Hood (the innocent) although she doesn’t look it here…with the Big Bad Wolf who has offered her shelter under his umbrella as it has started to snow again. She is on her way to take some fruit (orange amongst them) to her elderly Grandma who lives in a cottage deep in the forest. I wanted to interpret ‘triangle’ in the three character relationship i.e. Little Red Riding Hood, her Grandma and the Big Bad Wolf. Alternatively sections of the umbrella are triangular in shape.
