Originally the sky was pale blue and the wall was pink, so I did some colour editting here and also tried to give it this faded look, like it was taken with a toy camera. I’m a big lomo fan, though I’ve never had one myself. Sold a print of this. Thanks to the anonymous buyer :)

Travelling through Arizona I noticed so much desolation, abandoned structures, disconnected souls… which prompted me to stop and listen, I’m fascinated with connecting sound to the visual medium. / How do you visually capture the sound / of desolation…this is my attempt…. The transparency of the girl shows a dissociativeness with the landscape. / Is she there only in spirit? Not only until one is heard completely do they connect totally with their environment.

see also… Ki is the Japanese word for Life Force, Spirit or Energy. / The usage of this particular character illustrates the nature of Ki – it is something to be felt, rather than to be seen or heard. / It also represents the seemingly intangible quality of Ki – it is something to be experienced, rather than discussed or written about.

the basic idea behind this design is; you see more and more people ingnoring society by the use of portable media devices, it’s funny imaging family car trips where everyone is plugged into their only little conversation with themselves. / not too sure how it worked. i’m going to revise this description as i’m sure it’s quite rambley.

Yes the original intent was turning away from or turning into, however I wanted a more positive take on it and hence the title. It reflects, I hope, a listening to ones self, listening to the voices on the other side of the wall / door / in the next room, to others, and also a listening to what can’t be seen (yet)...the future…on the other side of the wall or in the next moment. Listening to the voice, listening for the moment, listening for the truth… The turning away is about turning from (even hiding from) discomfort, pain, distress, a gaze, the camera (representing truth?) – and turning to face a barren surface, an unforgiving moment or ( ... your interpretation goes here … )

Micon is completely captivated.. he is hearing the Orbe Bass and the RLezz Vibe Piano by a wonderful inventor and creator RL Hall, for the first time.. the visuals are so completely insync with the vibrations from the mind directed instruments, Micon can’t even move.. he is absolutly captivated and at One with the music. /

Inside Uluru…. “Come closer,” she whispered / “Look inside me and see my true beauty. / Listen. / Let me tell you my stories. / Let me share my secrets. / Touch me. / Can you feel my heart beating….? / Sssh / Do you sense my spirit? / Can I make you feel something new, something more / than you have ever felt before? / If you would only come closer and be still, / You might finally know who I am…. / and / You might finally know who you are….”

My little cat, Pikey…....... Found him crying his pretty little head off on a cold winter’s night running around in the parking lot of Kings Landing when I lived in Fredericton, New Brunswick…......put him snug up to my chest inside my coat and he slept all the way home…....he’s been with me every since living the good life he deserves…........he’s already lived in three different provinces in Canada! I know this picture is not completely perfect but neither am I…..LOL!!
