This is a resubmit with a larger file. I scanned this drawing with a flatbed scanner rather than take a photograph of it as I could retain more detail that way. I have always liked this portrait which was done from a live model in a classroom. The model was not wearing lipstick or eye shadow and she did not particularly look like this woman. The model just was just the frame upon which I built this idea of a “sexually exhausted” woman. Read into that what you will.

I was walking through downtown Washington PA this afternoon. I was window shopping when I came upon this mirrored window that someone had “kissed”. It was so strange, I just had to take a picture of it.

The lipstick tree has a fruit that is full of lovely bead-like seeds on the inside. This image was taken in the Ho’omaluhia Gardens in Kaneohe.

I edited these lips by increasing the fill light using Lightroom. It is a little blurry up close but I like it that way.

This sparked off my curiousity and interest in androgyny and gender theory. The idea of combining male and female physical traits really appealed to me.
