“I received this email from my daughter-in-law and I thought I need to share this with all of you.” / / Hi All: Thought this might be of interest. / / / From: Dr. Paul Nahid Neman “Who works in the breast cancer unit at Mt. Sinai Hospital , in Toronto. “ If there is a female you care anything about, / Share this with her. I did!!!!! I am also sharing this with the males on my e-mail list, because they need to tell the females THEY care about as well! Recently a lipstick brand called ‘Red Earth’ / Decreased their prices from / $67 to $9.90. It contained lead. / Lead is a chemical which causes cancer. The lipstick brands that contain lead are: CHRISTIAN DIOR LANCOME CLINIQUE Y.S.L ESTEE LAUDER SHISEIDO RED EARTH (Lip Gloss) CHANEL (Lip Conditioner) MARKET AMERICA-MOTNES LIPSTICK. The higher the lead content, The greater the chance of causing cancer. After doing a test on lipsticks, it was found that the Y.S.L. Lipstick contained the most amount of lead. Watch out for those lipsticks which are supposed to stay on longer. If your lipstick stays on longer, it is because of the higher content of lead. Here is the test you can do yourself: 1. Put some lipstick on your hand. 2. Use a Gold ring to scratch on the lipstick. 3. If the lipstick color changes to black, then you know the lipstick contains lead. Please send this information to all your girlfriends, wives and female family members. This information is being circulated at Walter Reed Army Medical Center “Dioxin Carcinogens cause cancer, especially breast cancer.”

  • You can put lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig...
    by Jonathan Dower

“You can wrap an old fish in a piece of paper called change. It’s still gonna stink.” “We’ve had enough of the same old thing.” -If you haven’t seen the news on this, which flooded both american and international news networks in a matter of hours, then this was Barack Obama referring to the republican’s economic policy. His audience, however, believed he was referring to Sarah Palin, and therefore began to applaud. Perhaps that idea stemmed from one of Palin’s comments before this in her nomination acceptance speech: “What’s the difference between a hockey mom and a pit bull? Lipstick.” Obama has been accused of being sexist. Obama meanwhile quite fairly claims that he was referring to the republican’s economic proposals. However, I still can’t help feeling this IS towards the republican candidates themselves. McCain is the pig, Palin is the lipstick. And America needs to realise this. When you vote republican, you don’t vote for Palin, you vote for McCain. I’m seriously worried that the American public may not realise that. Just think about it- once a President is in power, vice presidents no longer have much to do with the country. They are simply the running mate- and that is all. Once the election is over, they no longer matter. I mean, WHO is the current Vice President? Yes, I know it is Dick Cheney, but just LOOK at the Vice Presidency- it’s just a person there for show, a useful standby should a President die in office, but that is all. Voting republican means voting McCain, not Palin. Obama’s speech also for me had another significance- that every word he said was true here. Change, to the republicans, is the piece of paper. It will still stink. I personally believe McCain is another Bush in disguise- by voting McCain, you put yourselves under another Bush. The piece of paper is this change- and it doesn’t make a difference to what lies underneath, to me, the same bunch of idiots who supported Bush and now support McCain. America does not need another Bush- why vote for one? The republican’s haven’t truly changed, They aren’t New Republicans. They’re the same old Republicans that George Bush was. Nothing will change under McCain- wake up America, and make change possible. Furthermore, America must also realise that the responsibility of electing the next President matters weighs upon their shoulders as it is a decision that affects the entire world. George Bush affected the entire world. Not for the better. So the Republicans, as Obama has said so eloquently in his speech, using an old phrase to make a new point, are just the same old Republican party in disguise, the party of George Bush. You can dress it up with lipstick- a popular Vice Presidential candidate like Sarah Palin with her oh so cute family (who on EARTH names their kids Trig, Track, Bristol, Willow and Piper? I think that alone is disgraceful). Obama can’t be accused of unfair play here- every word he said is the truth- Palin and ‘Change’ are merely temporary costumes- just wait until you see the true McCain. You won’t like it. (Sorry here if it sounds like an Obama campaign piece, but I’ve tried to make it much more. Vote Obama ; ) .

On Saturday, 2nd May 2009 Midori Furze is holding a art workshop called Make Up Your Mind using lipsticks and other makeup. Its going to be at Manly, home of the Manly Arts Festival held in September of each year. So to compliment this awesome occasion, on Saturday, 2nd May 2009 you’ll be encouraged to create your own masterpiece with lipstick and other types of makeup at home or wherever you are that day. Paint and draw with makeup, just like you did (go on, admit it!!) when you were a child! While its not necessary to dig out your Mum’s best most favourite makeup, you’re not to use traditional art products (paint, pencil, etc). Here is a groovy example… available as artwork and as tshirts!! / After you have created your incredible masterpieces, upload them to our new group… Make Up Your Mind. Don’t forget to have fun!!!! Happy Bubbling :D

I did already!! I made up my mind to do a painting of a lion using my bestest makeup products. Of course, when I went to use the lipstick, I found them all hard as rocks. Hmmmmm… Oh well. At least my other colours haven’t dried out completely, and of course, powders never dry out or go hard!!! Leo the Lion (such an original name, I know) was created for the “Mr Squiggle Challenge”: http://www.redbubble.com/groups/make-up-your-mind/challenges/4927-mothers-day-challenge-mr-squiggle in the group Make up your MInd Karin drew a scribble and we all have to use makeup and paint a picture. I really enjoyed doing this!! I so love drawing :D The products I used… mineral powder foundation, sparkly blush powder, mascara, lip liner, lipgloss (my lipsticks were all dead… hard as rocks), concealer, green concealer, eyeliner, eye colour stuff (squeezy sponge applicator ones). All painted and spattered onto A3 art paper. Here are a few piccies showing my totally professional process!!! / / Now you all have to go and have a go at this fun painting style… Even you MT and Samedog… I’m sure you have Mums or Sisters or girlfriends you can borrow from!!!

You don’t need a lot of lipsticks to draw a picture. / I used a coloured paper, 4 Elizabeth Arden lipsticks (gold shine, bronze lame, redwood, echoes), lip liner, eye liner, eye shadow, foundation and a white chalk. / Use my fingers to blend the colours. / Think of 3 tones. Step 1: / Draw the outline. Step 2: / Add darker tone. Step 3: / Add lighter tone. Step 4: / Still working and adding darker tones and lighter tones but take advantage of using a coloured paper, keep sienna as a mid tone. Step 5: / It is almost finished. / But it is getting dark outside and I realised it didn’t have enough light for the camera. / So I had to stop working it. Final image: / Lipstick girl E Join our group Make up Your Mind and show us your works with make-up products. / The best artworks from this group will be shown at the art exhibition “Make up Your Mind” in Manly, Australia in September 09. The exhibition will be open by Karen Pini and it is a part of the Manly Arts Festival!!
