A Stellar Sea Lion colony at Brat Chirpoev in the northern Kuril Islands. / You could hear this colony well before you could see it. This area is often enshrouded in mist due to cold northern current mixing with a warm current from the south.

Oneof the white lions that were at sometime in the past a rarety. It is a priviledge to live in a country as diverse as South Africa, with wide open spaces of great beauty and amazing animals.
I persuaded their caregiver to allow me into the lions enclosure to take photographs. Had I realised at the time that they were licking their lips, I might not have been as brave. I felt safe behind my camera lol.
A golden-red catamount with bold lines and Celtic curves. / Mixed media on watercolor paper.
Wear your Celtic lion tee with pride. This is an original design based off of one of my artworks. Original artwork was created with pen and ink, colored pencils and art pens.
This was taken at the Lion & Rhino Park in Johannesburg, South Africa. The same place Mischief was taken. While the brown lion cub was playfully naughty at 4 months old, this white lion cub could barely be bothered moving. He was 3 months old at the time. He and his 3 siblings were content sitting in the shade, watching the brown lion cubs kick up a dust storm around us. Amazing what 1 month can make to behavioural differences! All these cubs would have grown close to their full size by now and would be in the return to the wild program, teaching them how to hunt, kill and survive out there. The program is designed to help keep the white lion away from extinction, which sadly, it is dangerously close to at the moment. Taken at the Lion and Rhino Reserve in Gauteng. / This lion held us mesmerised with his eyes. He looked right through us. His eyes are a green translucent colour. This is the most beautiful lion I have ever seen.
Lions captured at the Lion and Rhino Reserve in Gauteng. This picture conjures so much emotion in me. / It reminds me of so many relationships I have seen / where the female in subservient to the degree / of being frightened and almost cowering through life. / While the male stands tall and proud and one never knows what went on behind closed doors to bring about what is seen. May this be a reminder to us all to stand tall and proud as females no matter what.
18 month old Etosha in the foreground and Echo behind, both brown lion cubs. The two brothers were inseparable for the hour we were with them. Taken at the Lion Encounter Reserve, Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe. The reserve breed brown lions to be reintroduced to the wild in a 5 stage program, designed to keep the wild cats away from extinction.
