in the back street of clifton hill, this rusting monster lurks
Like waiting for judgement say, there they stood, in all their glory….40s era Fords, Oldsmobile’s, Pontiac’s, Chevy’s….awaiting the rodders touch to be sculptured in lead, and reincarnated into a new life as a hotrod. Sadly, as much as I love this place, it is now forever gone. I did many shoots at Classical Gas in Eaton, Colorado….and now it is just a memory….it is forever closed as the owner has recently passed away. I was lucky enough to have been here as often as I could…preserving it forever with my camera. And while it is an older shot, it seems just like yesterday I was standing there taking this….time stands still…...much as it did for the classic 40s Detroit iron….... Thoughts welcomed, print to come. Processed with PS, DCE HDR, and LucisArt. —-—-—-—-— See more on my website jdebordphoto.com

The old Port Willunga Jetty was taken at dusk at Port Willunga Beach, South Australia, Australia. This is my favourite beach in SA. Photoshop used to enhance the colour of the sunset with colour balance and filters. This was taken on a tripod using F32, 10 second exposure, ISO 200 and 75mm lens. This was taken using a Canon DSLR EOS 350D. This shot was featured in the Timber and Water Group.
Like carpet, the purpose has been pulled under the existence of the old bush hut at the end of the railway line.
This was taken at St Clair Beach, Dunedin, New Zealand, in summer. This was taken with a Canon DSLR EOS 350D camera. This was featured in the Timber and Water group, 2 weeks ago.

Just lately I’ve been having a nice time posting all sorts of random things for all sorts of distracted reasons and thats been lots of fun. But time to run another series across the screens of bubbleland…..and that can only mean Infrared images are coming up. I love the dark and mysterious light that can be inticed into being with B/W infrared film…. and yes all my IR work is done the old fashioned way with film….. Kodak High Speed Infrared film to be exact. This particular series was shot in Sydney some years ago at the old Reschs site on Lachlan Street as it was being demolished to make way for a new housing development in the inner city. I was fascinated with the destruction of all the old buildings and how the hidden backs of structures of were revealed by the rolling waves of demolition. This urban landscape of ruined reality and brand new dreams set in the piles of rubble took on a profoundly mysterious atmosphere and became a landscape setting suitable for colonization by the imagination…...hence the title of the series…..Landscape for Orson Wells….. this one is the first and its the very corner of a building that no longer exists…. except in this photo…..... so it can now be a building anywere you fancy it to be and it can signify any thing that you the viewer would like it to mean…....
Urban Lines Project – Steel Stairs was shot in RAW using a Canon EOS 10D with EF 70-300mm DO IS lens at 300m, ISO 200 at f4.5, 1/90th second. It was taken immediately following a brief shower of rain at noon. The building sits on a wharf directly opposite Jones Bay Wharf at Pyrmont in Sydney. Best viewed in LARGE size ______ ______

Acrylic on canvas, 12”x24” SOLD $1200 (Study Painting) / This painting is inspired by the heroes of an authentic tragedy which was also dramatized by Chikamatsu in 1722. Hanbei was a greengrocer from Osaka who married Ochiyo, a village beauty. There love was so strong their story became a village legend. Hanbei’s spiteful mother Omine tormented his new wife with scorn and disdain, so much so that the young couple chose to commit suicide, though Ochiyo was with child. / Perhaps they felt their love would live on, in yet another life? Featured on the Homepage, Sept. 28th, 2009 / / (Thank you RedBubble) Acrylic on canvas, 16”x20” / Sold, $1200 / (Study Painting) My work was featured in the Fine Arts Group / (Thanks everyone!) This is the third study painting I have created in a series of ancient Japanese graphic art works. This was inspired from the “Journey along the Passing Waves of the Shallow Rapids”. / Each piece I have done has been intense and rewarding. The brush movements are like a dance between me and the canvas. They are immensely enjoyable and I am currently working on several more. / CarrieGlennStudios.Com
A station that time has mostly forgotten all about stands waiting for a time that may never come. These old buildings and rails remember an era where hundreds of happy faces passed through here on their way home or on their holidays: They dream of a time long since passed. The Summer sky presents its amber glow to the station and casts its pigment all over the scene, highlighting the old charm of the woodwork and enhancing the shaddows. There is a romantic stillness captured within this scene. It is easy for us to imagine a crowd of people gathered waiting on a station that looks imaculate and yet, we can also see that this truly is the End of the Line. Extreme close-up of a sign-post for a Road/ street . / The road/ street sign-post is for ‘Armley Grange Drive LS12’. its THE nice part of Armley with nice well looked after homes and gardens, and very rustic. Its a good place to wander around for photographs. Focal length – 48mm / F/11
Shot on the Lunar New Year in Seoul, South Korea.
The street was crowded with shouts and chanting. Posters with slogans I didn’t understand moved along Main Street like thicken blood in veins too clogged with soot to notice. Faces turned to the distance and then waved aside the shoulders of police to stare into me or beyond me or through me or into cameras or maybe knowing that my two eyes saw everything as an abstract painting and they didn’t want to be abstract. The proud wrinkles shouted to be seen and be remembered for the hardship that had etched its way into flesh. No, you can not turn away, you can not cover me with cosmetics, you can not still the motion of music and feet shuffling along sidewalks that once were dirt. My dirt. Their dirt. Our dirt. The land that formed everything and out of which we grew. Before cement towers blocked the view to the sea. Before garbage covered the ashes. / The ashes. The ashes. Burning limbs from a sun that sets only once some days and twice when it feels the mood. Burning wind that torches leaves and dries the dreams of soldiers of the theater. Ashes that were baked onto the hillsides before they held mosaics of naked colors and hungry lights. Ashes that were blown from nature’s own breath and will still blow again and always even as merchants try to sell hot dogs to musicians and music sells to thin, clogged ears and ears are covered from the sound that the hands have created so that nobody realizes what is really happening. Nobody hears the clapping. / Blinded. Blinded by the brain’s efforts to see more and hear more and be more and sell more and buy more until there is no more and more has no meaning because it is less. Less. Less. / Yes the street was crowded. Yet I saw only one face. And that was enough.

Rusting corrugated tank, corrugated iron shed, weathered timber, angles, lines….... texture paradise!! / I found this while passing through an odd little NSW country town which goes by the name of “Legume”. I’m not sure why it’s named so….. there wasn’t a legume in sight. [Thanks to Ghostbones for the great texture overlay] Featured – Metallic Junction – October 2009
